I think these guys are at Terrapin tonight or this week, or soon. I saw them in the 90s.

I just love this one. Obscure and complex, pristine and simple.

Wilco A ghost is born 2004

Spiders is an intense song with krautrock drums and a pumping bass line and gnarly guitars that goes on for 10 min

A truly excellent solo debut from Geddy. If you enjoy latter-day Rush there is no reason you won't enjoy this. It sounds like 3/4 of a Rush album, dare I say.

It'd be a sad day if he never released another solo album considering how great this one is! :)

Episode 4 is a really good one in the Country Music doc by Burns. Patsy Kline didn't
have it that great in the beginning, but Will Nelson wrote Crazy (originally Stupid),
and there was no looking back. What happened towards the end of the episode
is epic in it's portrayal of what her tragedy did to the country music fans, and really,
the country. Patsy Kline was 30 years old. The photos are incredible and very telling
for that year, 1963. It will leave one speechless no matter your music interests.

So I've listened to a lot of country and blues, and folk since Sunday: Some more
Muddy Waters, a little Neil Young, and these...

    Ry Cooder 1974

Wilco's Ode to Joy for the third time in three days. It doesn't rock, I like when Wilco rock and jam. But it's a good record anyway

Kind of the opposite, for me. I like the alternative folk thing they do more. Probably why I like Schmilco album when others don't.

I like both but prefer Wilco with more melodies, noise, guitars, drums. A bigger sound.
Also, Tweedy doesn't sing much on the last studio records. It's more of a breathy talk whisper thing. But that's his approach in the last years I guess because he sings much more live.

That said, Ode to Joy is a grower and I'm hearing new things I like with every listen. I'm on it again tomorrow

Probably their last great record, at least for me. Love the production, which I think is Beatles esque

If only more of their songs were like Via Chicago, I could really get into this band. On that tune Jeff's out of tune, opioid vocals work.

This album is just ok. I get the whole Kinks/Beach Boys vibe he's going for here. Maybe just not my bag through the Wilco filter.

    I'll keep trying.

You're determined to make me listen to Wilco, aren't you?
For your information, I ordered the deluxe edition of Being There yesterday. I found it at a good price and said "why not". I have to pick it up this week, and I'm sure I will get Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and A Ghost Is Born too.

Freaking love this album. Actually, I love PJ, but for some odd reason they are a group I only feel like listening to MAYBE once a year, if that.

It's been about 2 years probably since I've had a PJ binge and have listened to almost nothing by them in the mean time. Weird, right?
