You are very welcome! I hope that means you like him. Tell us a little bit what you think/ feel about his interpretations, maybe you'll convince other members too....
I have this same CD by Clemens non papa but the back cover looks very different ... Yours looks like a re-issue.
First listen to CD 2 from "Boccherini Edition" on Brilliant. Symphonies G519, G520, G521 and G522 performed by the New Berlin Chamber Orchestra conducted by Michael Erxleben.
I remember that Angel LP with the "bouquet in a vase" I bought some 40 years ago. But the rest of my Angel LP's by him have very different jackets ...
Now playing the following CD, a recent arrival for a first listen ... I only have the following older, analogue version prior to this latest acquisition
I have "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra" in the following big box but have not listened to that CD (CD16) yet. Have no clue as to what it is all about ...
I'm in Yolo County, and much of it will lose power, but my actual town will probably escape the blackout.
First listen to CD 19 from "Alfred Brendel - Complete Recordings" on Decca. Mozart - Piano Concertos Nos. 20 (K466) & 21 (K467) The Academy of St. Martin-In-The-Fields & Sir Neville Marriner
It is based on a beautiful theme by Purcell were each segment of the orchestra is used just to show kids how it works, but Britten, as you would expect, turns this into something so special.
Enjoying the Cuarteto Casals today. Sadly their releases seem to be OOP at most retailers. Schubert: Quartets D. 87 & D. 887. Cuarteto Casals, Harmonia Mundi. Metamorphosis: Bartók / Ligeti / Kurtág. Cuarteto Casals, Harmonia Mundi.
In honor of the great Camille Saint-Saëns' birthday (which also, coincidentally, happens to be my birthday), I listened to an excellent version of the "Organ" Symphony today: Saint-Saëns: Symphony No. 3 ("Avec orgue") Detroit Symphony Orchestra & Paul Paray Marcel Dupré, organ MLP
And the performance of the 'Simple Symphony' is equally wonderful. One of my all-time favourite discs.
First listen to CD 2 from "The Ligeti Project" on Warner. Lontano / Atmospheres / San Francisco Polyphony / Concert romanesc performed by the Berliner Philharmoniker led by Jonathon Nott
