The Vegas shows where the Eagles played the Hotel California album in its entirety were apparently quite successful. So much so they have expanded the concert format to several more shows next year.

Eagles - Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, with Deacon Frey and Vince Gill – are bringing their recent, highly acclaimed “Hotel California” performances on tour in 2020 with concerts in Atlanta, New York, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco and Los Angeles. See below for a full listing of tour dates. Each night’s concert will feature a “Hotel California” set, with an accompanying orchestra and choir, followed by an additional set of the band’s greatest hits. The shows are scheduled to begin at 8 PM, with a brief intermission. Tickets go on sale beginning Friday, October 18, at 10 AM. All times are local.

in Atlanta, the upper stratosphere nosebleed section, terrible seating, starts at 300 each... before fees.

No Glenn ... No Eagles. Such a sad money grab.

Steuart Smith was doing most of the Felder parts when I saw them last year.

Can't imagine the Eagles without Glenn. Didn't his son play with them before?

I would be more concerned with Glenn’s missing vocals from the mix, because neither his son nor Vince Gill comes close. Felder’s guitar parts have been emulated note by note by Steaurt Smith for 20 years.

This was Glenn Frey’s original idea — he wanted the Eagles to tour this album for the 40th Anniversary. I wouldn’t attend this with a free ticket.

And actually a no-brainer money grab. This will sell a lot of tickets--faster and at a higher price--than usual.
Of course I was one of the millions of teenagers who purchased Hotel California when it came out , but the scale of it's continuing popularity eludes me.

But hey, nostalgia is powerful marketing tool.

I say this every time they tour. "How much money do these guys need?"

unless they are "only doing it to honor Glenn" but I seriously have my doubts.

Surely it's how much does Don Henley need? Surely the others are just well paid sidesmen. Henley could easily tour as a solo artist with the back catalogue he has and gain some respect.

Well, it would've been kind of cool if Donald Fagen had continued doing more of The Nightfly. He'd also toured with Biz Scaggs and Michael McDonald as The Dukes of September. His partner, Walter Becker passed. The Steely Dan name carries more clout.

Similar situation. Henley had a bigger solo career, while the partner passed. If you haven't had enough coincidences, both groups are managed by Irving Azoff.

Or you can sit comfortably at home, pop on the album, close your eyes, and hear it the way it was intended to be heard (without the drunken idiot next to you singing the wrong words, and off key)... and free of charge!

Actually, if the industry was smart, it would develop the idea of a paid concert streaming service, whereby home viewers could tune in to almost all live concerts. Yes, I know this is done occasionally for big events. But with budding new technology, I would think it is just a matter of time before this goes mainstream (no pun intended).

Only two players from the album remain. Vince will sing NKIT, I wonder if Tim will do TALA.

Reunion gimmick #1: "It's a tribute to Glenn Frey!"
Reunion gimmick #2: "It's the first time we've performed the entire 'Hotel California' album all the way through!"

Gimmick #3 will probably be be a tribute to the next guy who dies.

Or, how many dollars are the fans willing to give them to feed their need for a nostalgia fix?.....apparently a lot!

I wish Joe Walsh would do more tours. While I'm dreaming, I wish his catalog would get special reissues with bonus tracks.

Agree on both counts. The catalogue in particular is underrepresented.

Yet when ACDC do this with Back in Black in 2020 to pay tribute to Malcolm everyone on the forum will be on board.
