Here is a very long video. 107 minutes into the video, he even takes it apart. I don't think he talks about sound quality but he does review the build quality.
Has anybody messed around with re-wiring the new Technics tables with KAB tonearm wiring and upgraded RCAs? I wonder if this upgrade helps as much with the new Technics tables as it does with the 1200 MK2's. I did the upgrade myself and it made a HUGE improvement.
I hear if you rub unpopped Orville corn on the left side (must be name brand) and then put 3 grains of sand in the furthest corner of the room = wow tonal bliss.
I know someone that bought a GR and the platter had a wobble. He sent me a video and it was quite noticeable. Technics would not replace it even though it was still under warranty. They claimed the wobble was within their tolerance.
Both, and you forgot college, non commercial, and commercial broadcasting, clubs, venues where vinyl is played, and everyone else who needs reliable, high quality, low maintenance vinyl playback, with consistent performance.
Pioneer's tonearm is less precision, cheaper built, and often prone to horrible quality control. Technics has a precision tonearm, better motor, better build quality where it's critical. Post back after owning both, 10 years later. My money's on Pioneers failing and no parts, Technics still in daily use, with still available spare parts.
Guy should have purchased unit from a retailer with a money back guarantee like B & H. One solution to the wobble issue is to remove the platter clean the spindle and reinstall the platter.
I owned one and returned it within an hour of getting it. Build was really impressive, tone arm bearing issue was the worst I had ever seen. I am guessing even though its hit or miss, I got a very bad one. I was shoked even for a hanpin. The tonearm was so out of spec it was shocking.
Looks like there are no issues with current 15% Guitar Center coupons, so the subtotal comes to $849.
Yes, pretty common. I have a 1200G with warp on the platter. Technics always say within tolerance. However, a couple of weeks ago they sent two guys from their service department to take measurements and send back to Japan, still awaiting response.
What you doubt? It cant be sand from any beach, has to come from a sailors boot, imported ya know. Forgot to mention. Of course some specupanel light absorbers will extend the highs above 30khz so you can really hear the difference.
Pfffff .... if you are going to chant you might as well be streaming 128k ... this is serious business. How will you tell your depth and stage? Dont smear your image via halfhrtz vocalization?!
Many ppl would disagree with you on that, at least in the case of the Exact. (though maybe not anything else ) .
Have you seen the set up video for the SOL? Sorry, too much work. Unless Maybe if you like to tinker.
