2/15/73 needs to be released and pronto. Unfortunately, between the PNW box and DaP 32, that seems unlikely for at least another year. Or maybe it ain't in the vault, which would be a shame.

It's not in the vault (unless it came back recently, but no word so far of that).

I’m crossing fingers and toes it’s in one of those trunks. My favorite HCS and that whole second set is a magic carpet ride to me.

One of my all time favorites! The first cassette that I went hunting for better copies through the classifieds back when.

Yeah, there are some crazy good remasters of this in circulation but I'm game to get this one just to have the packaging.

Some of us don't have cassette or digital SBDs of everything and don't do the be.tree.wtf. stuff. I'm glad to just have access to this one through official channels.*

*I'm sure that I'll regret typing that at some point.

Nope, you will be psyched to get this official version and glad that, like some of us, you have not spent hundreds of hours of your life tracking down certain versions of shows. That's the beauty of Dave's Picks (and all official releases), they are all spectacular recordings.

Well, that assumes I'll actually get it, with or without fingerprints and abrasions (and/or broken hub grips, which speaks to packaging).

As for DaP, I'd agree except for DaP 4, of which I have the important chunk on a bonus disc. I traded DaP4 for some rare Sun Ra 10" vinyl.

As an aside, Johnnie Walker Green contains a fair percentage of Talisker (~30-40% IIRC).

The days of “nobody will buy it because they already have it” are long gone. I mean, they released 5/8/77 after all, and everyone certainly already had that one. Plus, most copies have already sold in advance with the subs.

The only Dave’s Picks with sound quality issues are the cassette ones, IMO. Boise ‘83 and the recent Chicago ‘79 one.

My favorite Here Comes Sunshine is still the first one I heard:

    12/19/73

The opening track on Dick’s Picks 1.

If memory serves. I had some pretty decent sbd cassettes of those Utica shows the 2 nights before this show. Good tour to be on I bet. :wiggle:

I pronounce like the way "bought" sounds

There's a nice SBD of 22 March 1973- Utica, in circulation that hit the scene in 2018 iirc. I first heard that show via an audience recording and it was mind-boggling to me as young Head. A fave to this day, an official release would make me a very happy camper.

The currently available versions of 3/24/73 all have 1980's technology A>D conversion, and used an unmodified Technics 1506 as the playback deck. It would be very surprising if the sound quality were not improved by a new transfer; how much is of course not yet known.

I listened to "Truckin'" from the Clugston/Miller 3/24/73 source on the Archive and there seem to be two different SBD mixes around. The main source has Jerry's guitar up front with slightly less Phil bass than usual for the era while the patch source has more Phil and less Jerry.

As long as it's pitch corrected. At least we know the Miller version is.

Me too. I'm not sure I get the distinction with "wau" that looks like the "aw" in "bought" to me.
