Yep. I heard it a lot for a few weeks.

 

This wasn't an AM Top 40 hit but the 'underground' FM freeform rock station I listened to in Boston used to play it a lot (Jerry Jeff Walker's first band, I think)...

 

and this one (dig the classic Farfisa organ)...

 

Can't Get Used to Losing You is a chart hit I loved. It plants me in a pivotal moment of time there in the spring of 63.

While it was in rotation, I also loved other records going on at that moment such as "the Night Has a Thousand Eyes", "Rhythm of the Rain", "Blame it on the Bossa Nova", the continued radio presence of the almighty Kingston Trio with "Greenback Dollar", and of course, the always wonderful Henry Mancini stuff that was charting.

In particular, it's during the chart run weeks of "Can't Get Used to Losing You" and "Nights Have..." that I started hearing Please Please Me. Which, as I always had tape recorders on capturing the stations, those three records seemed to somewhat be played close to each other.

What a strange blip of time. Kingston Trio could do no wrong in my book & I'd go see them any time they hit town. Please Please Me did nothing for me. I wouldn't see an actual picture of the beatles for another 5-6 months (and when I did finally see the ap wire pic, I'd laugh my a** off at how bizzare the band looked)....and then 9 weeks after that, JFK would die and then 11 weeks after that, I'd see the Beatles on Sullivan...where everything immediately snapped into place in my head.....and then off into ludicrous speed for me.

But man...."Can't Get Used To Losing You" is just a perfect song and perfect record.....so so cool. Even with it's additional power of appearing just before all he** was about to break lose on planet earth.

Such a fantastic record!

 

The Detergents “Leader Of The Laudromat” - A fun parody of the Shangri-las ‘Leader of The Pack’. Ron Dante is one of the members of The Detergents. Goofy 60’s fun.

That's a great record! Never heard it before. Is this the Sundowners who backed up the Monkees for the summer 67 tour? They were an okay band when I saw them with the Monkees, but dunno if they did this track.

"Listen To The Man" (1967) released as single by West Coast Consortium singer Robbie Fair. It's included on a CD comp I recently bought by this British vocal group due to someone posting their wonderful "Looking Back" in another thread here.

Can't even express how much I love this song.

 

The Cyrkle is commonly thought of to be a two hit wonder, but there are a lot of excellent songs in their catalogue...one of my favorites is "It's A Lovely Game, Louise" from The Minx soundtrack.
