The title requires that you have a “plastic soul” cut as your opener imho (thus UK)

how many times do we have to hear this??? then they should have protested and recalled all of the American albums, returned the money they made from THOSE ALBUMS and called it quits with the USA!!! How dare they rape our beloved UK albums!!!!...screw those Americans...meanwhile the 9 & 10 year old fans have no idea that there's Beatles albums in the UK that are different then theirs in the US...and it goes on and on...Poor Beatles, poor, poor Beatles...NO, rich Beatles, richer Beatles...Thank You America!

Apple Music, the biggest streaming service in the United States of America, features the US Capitol versions of Beatles albums.

I will not change the original UK track list. It's superior to the Capitol version track-wise and sound-wise.

It features the US mixes, the false start on I’m Looking Through You, etc.

“Hey Siri, play Rubber Soul the right way” and on comes I’ve Just Seen A Face....

Capitol was not a bastard though. They were the Beatles label in the states. They had authority from George Martin to do as they saw fit for the American market.

Yeah this might be the one time Michael defends the U.S. Albums set strictly from a cover art and configuration standpoint.

  19. Well you can’t restore something that was never intended to be on the album. If you wanted to replace tracks, I think that DAY tri-per wouldn’t have quite fit the vibe of the U.S. version of the album as it was set up but it would have been a great rocker to close out the album. They could have been put What goes On or Run for Your Life as b side.

I find the alternative U.S. track listing which I grew up with interesting and enjoyed it but grew to love the U.K. version. I’ve Just Seen A Face and It’s Only Love both were intended for Help! And that’s where they belong.

  20. On the contrary, Martin was unhappy just as The Beatles were with what was being done with their albums but resigned to it.

They got paid they were happy.
And they didn't have to be happy with the results if it was what Capitol saw fit to present the band to America. I don't remember reading that The Beatles boycotted the states over it.

The UK versions are how The Beatles intended these albums to be heard. That’s law for me! (Except For MMT, but that was really only adding more songs so that’s great!)

  24. No they didn't boycott the states but that was far from being happy with the results. Interviewed over the years, they and Martin indicated that they were not happy with what were done with their albums. Just because they got paid for it doesn't mean they were "happy" with the result. The fact is that Dave Dexter did what he wanted for a long time. Martin and The Beatles DID complain to the label about what was done to their songs and albums though and that's one reason that Dexter was replaced.
