Is it very good? Most of my Christie's recordings are limited to French composers ...

This interesting new release just popped up on Spotify (just one track is available for now):

I would assume it's a new record. The Apex CD is a re-issue of an early 80s recording.

I have long suspected my version and most versions of this recording are CD-R ...

I doubt I would add the ECM version to my collection since I already have many versions of these works plus my experience with the label has not been exactly great ...

Most of my Purcell recordings are by the usual suspects: JEG, Hogwood and Pinnock ...

I have this on the Supraphon label. An exciting performance. I'd like to pick up a few more Ancerl recordings.

Yes, brand new. I enjoy the Teldec one as well as his more recent recordings on ECM so I will definitely be listening to this.

A new recording, to be released in the EU on November 15. Looks very interesting.

I'm not in the habit of ranking recordings per se, but I like this new one very much. Since he's playing with an orchestra, he has to rein in his waywardness a bit! It's full of spectacular playing. My favorites are Matsuev/Gergiev, Gavrilov/Lazarov, and Berman/Abaddo, but Trifonov's belongs in the list. If forced to choose just one, I'd go with Matsuev--his powerful playing and stunning virtuosity are second to none.

Rubinstein playing the Chopin Waltzes ... but I’ve programmed them in the same sequence Dinu Lipatti used to play (starting with 4 and ending with 2).
