It’s off to a good start. A lot more time spent with MC business than last season.

I liked both a lot. Thought the 1st episode was very good.

The last few episodes have been the best of the season. Just watched the coming attractions for next week and am SO psyched!!!;)

I’m starting to enjoy the Mayans even more than I did SOA. The plot lines interweaving with the personal stories is really interesting and the cast is top notch. But with sutter gone I’m afraid it’s going to get watered down and dumbed down.

While I think the show is finally finding it's 'leg's', I find it missing a few key factors that SOA used to deliver on a regular basis. 1st off, humor! The thing about a show highlighting 'bad-boy' behavior, is usually we begin to love the 'bad-boy' humor. The Mayans is a grim affair, these vatos barely ever crack a smile, let alone a joke! Secondly, the sex! For a show about a hardcore latino motorcycle gang, these guys are boy-scouts! Understand, I'm not advocating more sex scenes, but the absence of sex, as a subtext, doesn't seem realistic in any way. SOA ran hookers and got into porno. BTW, some of the funnier moments on SOA involved this operation. So, IMO, while the show's doing better, it still needs work!

SOA took quite awhile to get going as I recall. We are only into the middle of the second season with Mayans. So I'm sure we'll see EZ's butt soon lol. Or perhaps not with Mickey Mouse running the show now. Also have to remember things were getting way heavier with the Sons at the end, and this is some of the fall out from all that, the cartel etc so not much to laugh about? But yeah I get what you are saying, think we are still learning the characters and plots though.

    Great Season Ending Episode.

Now to find out how Kurt Sutter leaving as the Executive Produce/Showrunner of 'The Mayans' will affect the next Season(#3). Although Elgin James was a Co-EP with Sutter, so hoping the Series continues without any drop in quality.

I thought 'SOA' had 5 Great Seasons, then a drop off in quality(until the Final Few Episodes-Violence just be Violent in Season #6, where the Violence in Season #5 was well placed in certain Episodes), so would be happy just to get 5 Great Seasons of 'The Mayans'.

I don't have high hopes without Sutter involved. Not just his writing but he stood up to FX then Disney. Will Elgin James? I don't know. Just afraid Disney is going to dumb it down.

How about that season finale? I thought it was great. Can't figure out what Alvarez said when he saw the bike tracks though? Anybody?

I couldn't make out what he said either. Looks like the Mayans will have their share of enemies for season 3.

I rewatched it with the subtitles on (duh!) and he said ''go tell paco" who I think is the security guy? Not sure what he meant or who Paco is

The point of the scene wasn't so much about what he said, but that he saw motorcycle tracks at the site of his bosses mother's 'suicide'. He knows the gang had something to do with it. Puts him between a rock and a very hard place next season!
