Chris Coy as the gay club owner is one of my favourite actors. This is the
same dude who played the crazed Nazi skinhead in `Banshee' a few years
    back.

8 episodes apparently. But only 3 so far (not 4 or 5).

Would a poster for Skinny Puppy be THAT big, in 1985?

Has there ever been anything more foreshadowed and anti-climatic?

.....and yet the scene where he's lying on top of his brother in a pool of blood was sad. Franco's putting in the work. And Gylanhall's chat with the feminists was powerful stuff. This series hasn't reached the heights of David Simon's past work, but it IS Simon, and the series has had its 'moment's'!

    Kind of a spoiler here.
When Paul had to deal with his partner's illness and death, the negotiating with the hospital and the family, all rang fairly true. I though Chris Coy handled that beautifully.
That whole scene with the feminists was indeed powerful and very much on point for the times. Especially with Abby trying to explain how they were playing right into the conservatives game plan as far as freedom of speech and expression went.
And whoever it was that played Andrea Dworkin nailed it.

After this past episode, I'm getting a sense that the overall story arc is coming to a close. Don't think it's going to end well for ANYBODY!

I don't know, but this season I'm not finding as interesting as the previous ones.

Two "you had to have been there" details:

    - Flintstones glasses from gas stations
    - Reg hoarding Coca-Cola after the introduction of New Coke

The actress that plays Abby looks and acts like a long-lost galpal from my past. It ended poorly, so I've 'hated' Abby from the very beginning!;)

Well, Abby was "eye-rolled" from S1E1 when she was a 36-year-old Margarita Levieva playing an 18-yo freshman boinking her professor. (For perspective, Karen Allen was 26 when she played "Katy" in Animal House, who left "Boon" for Donald Sutherland's bare-butted "Professor Jennings.)

I knew an "Abby-type" too - she even had a biblical name as well. Daughter of an IBM ("I've Been Moved") big-wig who always found an excuse to look for something else...

Yeah with the Dominique Fishback callback last week I was hoping we were going to get a few more where-are-they-now segments with the pimps. Gbenga Akinnagbe played Tom Robinson (the accused) in Mockingbird on Broadway so maybe the scheduling didn't work out. I'd like to see Method Man (Rodney) return too since his scene with Maggie in S1 melted my 65" OLED .

I thought Maggie made a little nod to one of her earliest roles:

I grew up in the 60s and 70s, so those decades are the most interesting to me. In the 80s, I was out of college and working, had little interest in the music of the era or most of the popular culture for that matter, so maybe that's why this season just doesn't do it for me. I enjoy seeing the crime-riddled cesspool New York I grew up in of the 70s so much more!

Goodbye Lori. I honestly did not believe she would survive the series, but I never imagined her going out like that. :shake: That was a powerful scene and it stuck with me a while afterwards.

Not at all surprised that Abbey left and it was long overdo. I wonder if Vincent leaves NY and moves to that town he visited last season. Can't remember if it was in Connecticut or Vermont.

I'm trying to recall any show which killed off so many characters. Deadwood maybe?
