Yes, I believe it is basically confirmed. I was responding to someone who felt this may be that person's last chance to see the band. I spent a lot of space being very critical of the Hollywood Bowl, yet still wanted to encourage the poster to attend, if they thought that this were their last chance.

It is hard to make guesses - but I will state that Time Out of Mind and Love & Theft are among my top 5 Dylan albums of all time. Meanwhile, Chaos and Creation in the Backyard is my all-time favorite McCartney album. And while I am a massive Who fan - even their best works ever (Tommy, Who's Next, Quadrophenia) don't move me like Love & Theft or Chaos and Creation.

I'm a crazed Kinks fans, but have found both parts of Ray Davies' Americana series to be unlistenable. Just frighteningly horrid. Who will completely make those albums seem even wimpier, and cliche-riddled than they are.

I have zero love for Brian Wilson.

Leonard Cohen made resounding work right up until the end.

It's going to be more than a week of shows, given the number of band/crew involved. With or without the string section.

Good as this record may turn out to be, I cannot seem to get past the title. "Who." It just doesn't work for me on any level, as a regrounding statement, anything other than an admission of defeat. I truly hate it.

Maybe they should have called it "The 'oo!"

That's what I did in PGH. The seat was great, the price was cheap, and show was excellent.

I think the generic title is meant as a reference to the final chapter in the band’s recorded history. I doubt they record another album. Their final album is fittingly titled Who.

I don't even think it works as a statement of finality. Plus, Pete got angry at an interviewer for suggesting this was their last album (someone quoted the interview in this thread...)

With just 2 studio albums in the past 37 years it is a reasonable assumption to make!

Detour would've been nicely full circle. This is a "none more black" title for sure.

Don't most Who album titles suck? That's not a defense of WHO, just a shrug of the shoulders. -E

I've been calling it 'Detour' anyway when talking about it out loud. Better title, and the only other word on the cover.

I mean, I would certainly bet this will be the last Who cd of newly composed and performed original material. And I know one can't take Pete seriously. But was glad to see he's not willing to quietly give in to presumption that "surely THIS MUST BE IT for you."

It bodes well at the very least for another chance to see them all around the US. Tho I am biting bullet and going to bowl AGAIN tonight, just for old times sake. And because the 13th was so ding-danged great....

Indeed, all that matters is the music. People thought Who's Next was a boring title, but now it's iconic because the music on it is phenomenal.
