Military (and I guess police, etc., people with radios) code for the letters of the alphabet, if you say "Ay, Bee, See" over a radio there is a large chance of being misunderstood.

So, the "ABC"s of life we all must negotiate, with reference to the military style of naming the letters.

Unless you already know all that and just think it sucks...

Best of all outcomes: no shipping notice, but The Goods are in my mailbox this afternoon. Like Macman, I went straight to the Here Comes Sunshine, and was not disappointed. Sound quality sounded very good (granted, all of maybe half the disc that I had time to listen to).
Dave’s Picks, one of the great deals in music collecting. And yes, I am sooooo psyched for Dekalb!

Do we know yet if this is a Rex board or a Kidd board?

#7039 has arrived safely in Cape May Co., NJ and this first set is cooking. Great sound, awesome release.

Did the Dead ever play a bad show at the Spectrum? How many official releases are there from their favorite venue?

Official releases from their favorite venue?

    Just 2 so far, IIRC ... Dave’s Vol 6 (2/2/70) and 30 Trips (3/18/71)

You did mean the fabulous Fox in St Louis, didn’t you?

My first show was the Spectrum 3/25/86.

My unsentimental assessment: it will never sit beside DP 36.

#270 has made its way to the Land of Enchantment.

The recordists are credited as Rex and Kidd, and since Rex is listed first in the credits my silly guess is that he recorded the 10" reels, and Kidd the 7" reels.

How do they look? My disc #1 is pretty beat up. 5 or so deep scratches in a block. Haven't played it yet...

    Sorry to hear that.

I did not get out a looking glass, but the discs look clean.

I'm sorry to hear that, both of you. Mine was fine. But for context, if it helps any, a few years before he passed three years ago, my Father-in-Law sent me a December 1964 Fender Princeton amp. He had packaged it very carefully. When it arrived, it was dumped in the box with the original speaker replaced with a late '70s speaker hanging from a few stray, loose screws.

That said, you should actually be able to get replacements for yours. The Dr. Rhino email will no doubt be showing up in short order here. Please do act on it even if your discs play (I doubt yours will, @Instant Dharma, since they don't exist in your time-space continuum - hopefully those were scratched like nobody's business). The more we grouse, the more likely they'll do something about it other than accept failure as an acceptable business practice. Next time it'll be me again (PNW Box had two badly scratched discs) and then...

Have not received my dave's p 32 yet.... when i do a search under the order number it says 'shipped' but no further info.
Hopefully I'll get Monday.. but as i've been spinning the new 'travelin thru' Dylan set, (and have other new things I haven't heard completely yet) - no worries!

I re-upped for next year, tho I'm not thrilled that the first daves p is another '77 show, still, i'm sure there will be some great things released (hopefully!)

October '77 is a whole different thing than the Spring, and the show from the 29th shoots lightning out of its flying eyeballs.

And if I am excited for a '77 release you know it's a good one! :tiphat:

I've been pretty lucky the last few years, for the most part. My PNW box was immaculate. July '78 all clean. Giants Stadium clean. All my DaPs have been solid. Shown the Light was perfect. All my Dylan sets have been fine.

So, like I said, I've been fortunate. I guess I had it coming...
