I haven’t been to these shops in a few years but I used to live in Nassau County.

Infinity Records in Massapequa Park and Mr. Cheapos in Commack are good shops that try to cover a reasonable selection.

If you live in the suburbs you will have to drive and therefore as long as you must have a car you ought to then make the drive out to Princeton NJ to go to Princeton Record Exchange. PREX is a unique experience.

PREX is well worth the trip. I go a few times a month.

HaHa, take me with you. My exodus from the burbs was also my exit from owning a car. Hold on a minute...strike that...I shouldn’t be buying more vinyl, tough choice to allocate the space to keep them.

Massapequa record convention. Any record convention east of Harlem.

Worth crossing the county line to check out High Fidelity in Amityville.

Cheapo is good but have have an unfortunate way of stocking the vinyl. They typically only put one version of any title out in the browsers. It could be a US copy, a mono copy, a stereo copy, an import, etc. There are exceptions for bigger sellers like Beatles, Stones, etc. Some real gems pop up from time to time. Beware of buying CDs. A total crap shoot. If they have multiple copies of a used CD they may go back to the stock room and pull out another copy, drop that CD in the case you picked up from the browsers so they can put the now empty case they just pulled the CD from back out in the browsers.
