Agreed. It was amazing actually. I believe it was year before last IIRC. They had almost all of the Beach Boys AP reissues for half off! It was insane. I picked up a copy of every Beach Boys Analogue Productions LP they had for $17.50 a piece.
Yep, bought my only AP 45 Blue Note that day just to try one out. Sidewinder by Lee Morgan. Sounds great, but the format mess with my flow.
Many of the vinyl titles are 15 USD at amazon: Amazon.com Movers & Shakers: The biggest gainers in CDs & Vinyl sales rank over the past 24 hours John Coltrane - A Love Supreme is also 15 USD. Is this pressing worth getting? I have only the complete masters 3LP edition currently.
It's listed as being a 1995 pressing. That seems unlikely, but if true that's the "GR" reissue series, which was supervised by Michael Cuscuna, who has confirmed that they were cut from the tape by Wally T. at Capitol. These get mixed reviews - some like, some don't.
There seem to be a lot newer presses since then (Back To Black series) and some of them are pressed at United (I think), so it seems its a gamble
If you're after a reasonably priced AAA Love Supreme, I'd look for a 68-72 USA reissue. That's the black label with the red outer ring. Preferably with RVG in the deadwax. Example: John Coltrane - A Love Supreme There seem to be a lot of Italian discogs sellers with heaps of USA Impulse records, so shipping not too bad for you. Also watch ebay - I snagged a 2002 Speakers Corner version this year for $60. Very nice!
I have a couple of Japanese copies of ALS. it has that analog warmth that vinyl exhibits. but iirc the one to go for is the van gelder stereo usa impulse.
Beatles, Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years Deluxe Blu-ray is $18.42 minus a $1.25 coupon ($17.17) A Christmas Gift For You From Phil Spector CD is $3.79
I worked closely with buyers at a now defunct national music chain and can say with no uncertainty that music was wholesale priced with a built in allowance shown right on the invoice that the retailer received a discount when they purchased the product to cover the retailer for a certain percentage of returns. In the long run it saved the retailer and the label money by discounting the wholesale price and skipping the return process. The sad song story from retailers about eating the price is pure bunk. Yes. Back to deals.
Mine came in today too. Still sealed so I'm not sure why they are selling them as used. Thanks to the OP for this!
Lana Del Rey, "NFR", pink vinyl 2 record set. Unique explicit cover. Urban Outfitters...$39.95 with free shipping.
I got the 2nd and 3rd John Wick BRs for a total of $14--however, trying to get the first one is not working. It's like they aren't selling it or their allotment is out.
Not sure if anyone into the band OM...but this is a nice deal... OM Live for $13.28 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QGDCFL8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_nkT4DbBF77JMS
