Wasn't it wrapped in cellophane? Stickers on cellophane wouldn't be a problem.

Probably the busiest time of the year. Amazon employees are under the most intense pressure from their superiors and corners are cut in order to meet their targets and not get fired.

Amazon has a model which s based on an enormous volume to create low prices. (It also results in a market monopoly that reduces wages and puts small brick and mortar mom and pop record shops out of business ...but thats another story)

But we get lower prices and for most people that savings is all that matters. I think they care about service like packaging only so far as to keep most people compliant. (Which is different then happy. )

You can always pay more and buy from Acoustic sounds or other higher end online shops or order through your local shop.
I find it tiresome all the complaining about Amazon when you can always buy elsewhere.

Ya pay for what ya gets.

  7. But, I don't believe their prices are generally lower. I think that's a bit of a myth. Those days are gone. The only time prices are actually significantly lower is when their algorithm decides it is for short spurts then it suddenly drives up again way higher than anyone else.

Well i currently pay an extra 10 to 15 percent on the blue note 80th anniversary releases and the blue note tone poets series at my local shop
Over the last 3 years everything has been at least this much of an extra.

Also, When i bought The box sets like buffalo springfield dylans etc At Amazon instead those were even more of a savings. 20 %

I sometimes buy Amazon to reap the savings and I sometimes buy at my local shop and chastise myself for not supporting my local shop all the time.

Perhaps only a warm deal but I recently purchased the "Evenings with Led Zeppelin" book by Dave Lewis, which is a complete chronicle of all of their live shows. Amazing hardcover book.
Amazon.CA had it the cheapest (to the US) at $44.68 shipped and I got it in 2 days. Amazon US is ~$70 shipped. Amazon UK is ~$63 shipped.

Agree. They don't always have the best prices available and sometimes their only edge is lower shipping costs. It pays to check other sources IMO.

Regarding the Stones box packing. Some have received them from Amazon CA with NO protective box.

I just took delivery of the same, but bought for £155 yesterday from Sound of Vinyl UK. It's now sold out! It did arrive very well factory protected, so I thought I'd post a few pictures of what SHOULD arrive...if not you have my pictures as proof of how the manufacturer packs it, before Amazon removed the box!

Good luck to those ordering, and I hope you get it shipped as it was meant to!
