Even though I'm not buying it, I can't wait to see some pack shots/unboxing pics. Anyone see anything aside from the pic on the Fleeting Glimpse forum?
I was dubious about the sampler, but I streamed it, and for me it was a decent enough listen from beginning to end. But as has been pointed out many times, the sound, and some of the mixes and edits, are not so wonderful. A curio at best, just IMO.
Thanks, it provides a valuable early insight. I think that this box is really for the specialist fans who enjoy DG-led-Pink Floyd. To be fair there are many of those, but for those of us who found The Endless River disgusting, hated A Momentary Lapse and thought that High Hopes was the only good song on Division Bell, there may not be much here. Ironically, this would have all made much more sense under David Gilmour's name.
Why is TER disgusting? Are you a pro roger fan who hates anything PF because Roger is not there? Why not enjoy this era of the band for what they put out rather then being biased against it and being stuck in the past with your hate for David and the others for continuing without Roger get over it. Its not a specialist box set though if you are a true PF fan who likes all eras of Pink Floyd regardless of the line up.
Found this little booklet for merchandise in the pocket of my Pink Floyd denim jacket fro the 94 tour. And the inside pages too:
And I found this article from the Cumberland News dated 19th Feb 1993 about the guy who built the car for Nick Mason to drive in LCP too. photo sharing
Based on the photo of the set we have so far, it looks like it won't be easy to break the set up, especially the cds as it looks like they are all housed together in one of the books. Unfortunately it's the cds I would be after!
I agree with you totally. Hardly ever do I watch the video material in these boxes. I could easily have swapped the dvds and blurays for extra cds instead. But I guess a 16-cd box set would have been a stretch for any band.

A stretch for any listener, too: ten or more live takes and one remix of "On the turning away" would be too much even for us. The later years were years of early retirement for Gilmour and the other two musketeers: there's simply not enough material. Waters must be grateful to his former colleagues: if Gilmour had not opted for a stay-at-home dad life, he would have fallen into oblivion. By the way, I listened to OTTA again today, and abruptly it reminded me of Poles Apart: now the song has a divisionbellesque feeling, so mission accomplished I would say, although the original version remains the most powerful one.
It is an altogether phony release. No, I like both and I think they deserve each other. I can't. I think it is crap just like "Landing On Water" and "Knocked Out Loaded". Even David Gilmour's solo stuff is better. I do not like all eras of Pink Floyd though.
