Your government probably does a good job of keeping things that way. I'm guessing immigration is fairly strict.
Here in the U. S., immigration is granted to about one million new people every year - that's the number given legal resident status. That is the highest number of immigrants allowed in, of any country in the world, if I am not mistaken.
