PT still uses the number stickers to identify the tuning. He has them applied to the back of the guitar. Also interesting is the 4th knob, which controls the Fishman Bridge pick -up. The most recent mods include an emory board adhered to the face side. PT uses that to sharpen his guitar picks.
I saw them in 2017. He had a gold strat with mini HBs, and every time he plugged it in the rawk went up by a factor of 3. -E
Good review (4-stars) from the Guardian's main pop music critic too: The Who: Who review – back and still causing a big sensation
Oh yeah! This is where I need to really decide. Cranking up "Who By Numbers" vinyl version first today and then "Who" vinyl version. I still think from start to finish, "Who" is over all stronger (will be my 5th listen). But oh how I love Slip Kid, How Ever Much I Booze, and Dreaming From The Waist On Down, and oh yeah, Success Story, one of my favorite songs to get the weekend started when this album came out. And that classic cover from John!
He did not want to listen through my phone, I offered...ha! Could not agree any more! His posts and enthusiasm have been quite fun!!!
I got a shipping notification today too, for the bundle I bought through the main Who site. Says it's 1 to 4 days for delivery in the UK. Which means it might be tomorrow. But it won't be will it? It just won't!
Got the shipping notification today as well, let’s hope it will arrive safe and sound ! 7-10 days grrrrrrr.........
Heard Detour on the phone twice ! FANTASTIC.. Moon style drumming & semi Ox style bass, & Townshend's tense Bo Diddley style guitars & the incredible group vocals & Daltrey's fierce spitting lead vocal !! FANTASTIC A+++++ WHO 65 OUTTA THE PARK !!!! & SUBTLE BUT LUSH PRODUCTION....Townshend adds the bass harmonica & a string pad in the breakdown-bridge....Roger even does a wail scream !!!!!@).... Me thinks folks that love Who's Next through to Face Dances or its hard...might like All This Music Must Fade better, & fans that Dig My Generation, Anyhow Anywhere & Substitute, might like DETOUR More.....and many will find them equally great.. While drums & lead vocals are centered, much like the other 3 songs ( we've heard ) some of the harmonica ( in this case.) & guitar is hard panned to one side, that real 60s early 70s hard pan thing...big group vocals on this one !! No idea about much of the lyric, except the hook chorus, yet...the drums & bass ain't carbon copies of Moon & Entwistle , but they are in that type of early WHO style, sections of Entwistles bass part are even trebly !!! & some of the oddball drum fills are quite Moonish..just here & there !!!! For me it's the best of the 4 so far with Music Will Fade a pretty close 2nd, & the other 2, really good also, but a tad behind the other two ! It's the only time I recall hearing a modern WHO track, that pays hommage to the early WHO... FANTASTIC !!@
@johnny moondog 909 has finally heard Detour. All is right with the world. (Thanks Johnny for posting your thoughts, your enthusiasm is friggin' contagious!)
What email did it come from? I redeemed my code the day I got it, and it confirmed the code. Just want to see if it's in a spam or junk folder.
Got a notice from Target that my shipping window moved up by a couple of days. (As you can see, I shop all the time at Target. )
