The Victor Talking Machine Co. is back! (sort of)

    Some company has bought the rights to the Victor trademark and is putting it on a range of inexpensive and not-so-inexpensive turntables and "Orthophonic" Bluetooth speakers. They claim to be based in Camden, NJ, just like the original Victor company.

    Here's their top-of-the-line turntable, selling for $429 with a "VictorMag" cartridge (that looks like an Audio-Technica) and a lifetime warranty:

    What really caught my eye was this badge on it:

    Nipper, my how you've changed! And I bet the "final assembly in Camden, NJ" involves slapping that sticker on a Chinese-made turntable and boxing it up.

    Nipper looks more muscular than he used to. This could spell the end of digital as we know it. :wantsome:

    Maybe that’s not Nipper. That dog could be Victor the pit bull.

    Here is their factory tour video. They show taking fully assembled black plastic turntables, gluing a piece of green felt onto the platter, and putting them into custom-engraved wooden cabinets:
