    B-Side to Seaside

A nice B side to Seaside :). Great vocals and instrumentation. This is an experimental work with cleaver lyrics and title.

    Lyrics:

    Came for a weekend
    Ended in a hate joke
    That's when I heard
    The B-Side to Seaside
    More than an A-Side
    Less than a C-Side
    My little B-Side
    B-Side to Seaside
    More than an A-Side
    Less than a C-Side
    My little B-Side
    B-Side to Seaside
    Into the offside
    Onto the outside
    My little B-Side
    B-Side to Seaside

    Credits:

    Produced by Paul McCartney
    Written by Linda McCartney
Backing Vocals, Banjo, Congas, Drums, Electric Guitars, Mellotron, Moog, Piano by Paul McCartney
Backing Vocal, Lead Vocals by Linda McCartney
    Label: Epic
Release Date: May 31, 1977 (US)
    Recorded at AIR Studios, London
    Length: 2:42 minutes

    Paul's own words:

    1998 Wide Prairie liner notes

"When a B-side was required for the release of Seaside Woman, Linda and I whipped up this witty little ditty. Its lighthearted flavour exemplifies Linda’s attitude to life. Amongst her favourite sayings was “don’t make so much of it“."

My local radio station play a great song bye wings that I've never heard really made me want to check them out more but this Steve Hoffman Music discussion has really turned me off Sir Paul McCartney and Wings and the Beatles always love them but now I just can't stomach it anymore any kind of Colt unquestioning praise and worship as the coming of Jesus in Paul McCartney has changed my musical taste I think I may sell all of my albums by The Beatles and Paul McCartney now

The music's merit or lack thereof stands on its own, regardless of what we or anyone else says.

I was just on the phone with Paul and told him about this thread and , more specifically , your post. He said it always makes him sad when he loses a fan. He also said no hard feelings and hopes you get a good price for your albums.

This is as good a place as any to say this about McCartney:
Is there anyone even remotely like him in music?
Here's this guy from Liverpool who joined a band which went on to change the face of popular music. The band splits up and he carries on.
Now he is about to enter his seventh decade as a major recording artist and live performer with a catalog of songs which is almost unbelievable.
I was looking at a chronological list of every song he has written or cowritten and it was staggering. Mind boggling.
Who else is there to compare him to today?
    Nobody.

He is a world treasure for sure.

I hope there is someone, or something set up to help maintain the recorded legacy down the road. I’m not talking just box sets, but people who are expert enough to curate his output in perhaps unforeseen contexts and media, some 20-50 years down the road.

Reminds me of a comedy bit I read in a book somewhere once. Think it was a Terry Pratchett book.

That darn McCartney had a habit of tossing off a charming ditty off the top of his head, and, mostly as an aside and quite accidently, making a quick 300 mil that week. But he's very nice, and we do like the songs very much. Just a charming fellow.

Think about it, in the mid-80’s he was basically written off by about everyone. It’s almost 2020 and any new album he releases is still regarded as a Big Deal, even in alternative circles. It’s quite amazing!!

If things had happened differently I would have hoped to answer: John Lennon.

Honestly, sometimes I wonder if he feels bothered enough to go and take a peek herein. Wouldn’t surprise me, as SHF conversations often end up on top with the Google search engine.
If so, I don’t think he’ll ever give away his presence. I’m sure this place will blow up into smithereens if he did.

Oh! You can be sure of that !
McCartney's no longer the young man who thought royalties were people who lived in castles.

Don't want to veer off course into a Lennon or McCartney thing but if John hadn't died ( 39 years ago next week ) I really can' t imagine him keeping pace with McCartney.
I have no doubt he would have made a lot of great music but would he have achieved what McCartney has?
