Michael Hutchence. Largely forgotten?*

I enjoy both hsi solo cds max q and self titled.

 

The flaws of Pop are more than obvious, damn it if it doesn't have some killer stuff on there. The vibe is unlike anything else they've ever done, and I totally dig it. I get why All That You... was a big comeback album, but I rarely listen to it anymore, although I listen to Kite a lot; I love that song like crazy.

 

POP is my favourite of theirs. Probably in front of Achtung. I just like it because there’s so much going on and it gives me feels like absolutely none of their stuff has since. I do like the song Landlady though and The Little Things That.... I think those songs fit nicely with the time U2 were once ‘that’ band.

 

I definitely think quite a few songs from the last two albums have that vintage U2 sound. Heck, the bonus track Book of Your Heart from the last album sounds like a lost track from the mid to later 80's. Good stuff.

 

So I finally listened to X, and sure it is related to Kick, but it isn't the same, and it is another very good album.

Fun read: INXS – Anthology: Part I

 

It sounds just like the typical opinions that have been said a lot before honestly: early albums suck, late 80s ones way better. My big problem with the later 80s albums is they're slick and not raw like the earlier ones. I wonder if he'll trash or like the 90s albums though.

 

I Liked INXS very good pop band at the time. Listen like Thieves was a good album.

I watched the Mystify documentary last week and have to say it was a fitting tribute.

Very happy for his family and friends that there has finally been an honest and tactful film made about his life.

 

Apart from the blurb continuing to refer to it as a cassette, how is it that you say it was a miss-press?

 

The release date kept changing - it was available to order for a few days and then was unavailable. It also claimed to be on coloured vinyl, but actually wasn’t. Not sure what was going on.

 

I got my copy early in the summer (I think May or early June?) and then it sort of dried up for a few weeks only to reappear in a number of locations. The sound of vinyl uk shop has it here: Dekadance as do several ebay sellers. Correct: it is not on colored vinyl.

 

This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Yeah, it was...unexpected to see MH utter strangulated post punk noises. Incredibly far away from the 80s mainstream rock.

 

I did not know that.

 

You’d probably find We Are the Vegetables, Scratch, Wishy Washy, Silent Night and a few others a surprise then. The early stuff circa the first two albums and before was always the least popular.
