I got mine on July 30th and it still hasn't shipped either. I'll give it a few more days and then I'll give them a poke just to remind them :)

Just a heads up: it looks like the excellent Numero CD set of classic UK band The Creation is sold out from the Numero site. LP version still available but if you want it on CD and don’t want to pay inflated prices a few months from now you might wanna grab it from somewhere...

Some fantastic deals to be had this year—looks like the sale is on for all 12 days this time as opposed to just one sale per day. Check out the list at the link above.

In case anyone is still looking for it, the Husker Du — Savage Young Du 4xLP box set is on sale for $50 right now. Almost makes me want to buy it even though I already own the CD version! Geez!!!

Along with like 20 other titles. I had to grab those Codeine 2xLP + CD sets for $12 each. That’s a crazy good price!

The Zombie box is great. The book is really well done and the records are from when they were actually good!

Oh finally that Ork Singles box for $40!

The Ork Collection is fantastic, highly recommended.

The Purple Snow and Husker Du boxes are so tempting but record budget is already in the red :(

    Lots of great stuff available.
Any thoughts on which format to pick between vinyl and cd? How are the vinyl pressings in general? Thanks

I’ve been buying up the CDs because those are being phased out of the catalog and they have been letting them go CHEAP. I have a handful of vinyl items and the pressings are fine but unspectacular, especially given the sources on a lot of this stuff. Packaging is pretty great though, especially on the larger boxes. But as long as the CDs are going for $6 or less, I’ll probably buy up all I can until they are gone.

That is my favorite Eccentric Soul release so far. It has so many great songs I would never had heard without those great Numero people. I wish I could get the vinyl version which has a few extra songs.

I snoozed on the Purple Snow CD set when it was $10 or whatever it was, but I’m seriously considering the vinyl set. Does anyone have/enjoy that? I need a push off the fence. Otherwise I’ll probably just grab a few CDs and the Montgomery Express LP.

While I agree that often their LP's aren't relevatory, the box sets totally are. It's probably worth it just for the full size book and box alone

I would agree with that. The box sets are usually a deep dive experience for me that stretch out for a week to 10 days at least, between the music and the extensive liner notes and fabulous overall packaging. Can’t think of any of the single albums that hold my attention that way, though I definitely have enjoyed them all so far and haven’t gotten any duds yet.

I’d say that Purple Snow is about 1/3 killer tracks, 1/3 good tracks and 1/3 okay tracks - which is a typical batting average for a Numero comp, although they do have some that are 90% awesome.

If I made a single LP, 40-minute comp of my favorite stuff from Purple Snow, it would be an amazing ride.

The recording quality is too dodgy to warrant an lp purchase for me. I will probably pick up the cd set instead. "If You See Me" by 94 East has got to make the list of killer tracks. Killer!
