If you are looking to get the new Stereolab reissues, Amazon Au have very good prices for the vinyl.

All are 3LP with demos and outakes and cost around $45.

The sound quality on the 4CD set isn’t a dealbreaker at that price (currently $16.43), IMO.
It also contains a lot of material not on the 5CD set.

Sadly 20% off at JB still doesn’t bring most box sets down to a price comparable to online retailers.

Not to derail the thread, but are there actually any deals worth considering at JB?

I usually buy already reduced vinyl or boxed sets. Last time I got the Kylie Golden super deluxe for AU$40 down from AU$92. The time before that I bought The Boy From Tupelo box for a third of it's price and a 20 CD box of Elvis soundtracks for a ridiculous price I can't even remember.

In store or online? I’ve never seen a box set reduced in store. Most box sets sit on the shelf for years with huge mark ups.

There's a few shops that go by the old 'red marker' rule. When something sits there for six months they discount it. Some shops have probably never sold a vinyl record but store policy makes them stock them. I usually take note of what's reduced inshore then wait for the 20% off. There's also stuff that's cheaper online.

I'm getting the new Beck and Who CDs. I don't think I'm actually saving much, but at least JB have them in stock.
