I haven't watched Brooklyn either. I did watch Room. Brie Larson won an Oscar for her role.
    What about The Revenant?

I liked it. Hard to watch in certain parts but I could buy an argument that it should've won that year.

don't agree ET is excellent ,Blade Runner would have been my choice ,but not the version I first saw in the Theatre ,which also had a crappy print,It is simply a better movie now in 4k

I've only watch Wings recently and it's amazing how they performed and filmed the flying sequences. Makes Top Gun look like a cartoon.

Thoroughly deserves the title for 'Best Picture' of 1928 (and all time).

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is the winner this year. Hands down.

I saw Blade Runner at Warner Bros. about three weeks before it hit theaters, and I said, "oh, jesus, is this thing gonna bomb." And it did. I liked it visually very much, but I think it's a downbeat film with a lot of weird plot problems and odd structure. I'm a huge Phillip K. Dick fan, but I think they changed enough from the original novel that it didn't work as well for me as a film. I don't dispute it's been extremely influential over time, and it's a beautiful film to look at. But an Oscar best picture? No way.

Not sure I'd say it deserved BP, but honestly, that's not a stellar roster of movies.

I actively disliked "Brooklyn" and I thought "MM:FR" was absurdly overrated, but the rest are... pretty good. There's not a single one that clearly stands above the rest to me...

Spielberg entered Trying Too Hard Mode in 1985. With a few exceptions, he never left!

Mad Max: Fury Road should have won. Time will correct that one.

are they sticking with the 8 nominees thing again this year...seems overkill.

I think the Conversation is the better of the three. and I love them all.....
