    The kick-drum is a distraction on Dave’s Picks 32. I can’t un-hear it.

One easy highlight of Dave’s 2019 releases is the 12/4/79 Franklin’s Tower > Jam filler on Vol. 31.

June 74. Might be one, if not the most, prolific months in Dead history. Opinions? Other Ones?

Just secured a copy of DaP 32 and I was surprised that the booklet was actually a fold out insert. Is this the first time they have done this in the series? If so, I hope it’s not the trend going forward as I much prefer an actual, stapled booklet.

You are not alone. I'm trying to keep my blood pressure down and don't think about it. I'll have DaP 33 before I get 32.

I wish someone in the company actually cared... but because they don't. Nothing I say or do will remedy it.

Hearing these stories about delivery woes with 32 makes me worried that 2020 may not have been the best year to subscribe for the first time. Hope I don't regret it...

If it means anything, up until recently the service has been impeccable. I'm quite sure this has everything to do with WB following the other distributors and moving to a different distribution model with warehouse and shipping. I'm hoping... hoping... that they are working on getting this sorted out and we'll see improvements.

I'll tell you why too. It's not just so I get my DaP32 but because it's eventually going to ruin the business model that Grateful Dead uses. It's not sustainable and it will eventually crumble unless they can get this to work. - With the way general music is released (available on spotify/youtube and sales of physical product being low) it only hurts a small percentage of consumers, all of which can choose to listen elsewhere while they wait. But GD is selling exclusive product to hardcore fans that have to wait to get their product. Then someone, like myself in this situation, doesn't get their product and has paid money for it, I have not alternative but to keep waiting and keep complaining. It is not in my nature to keep complaining, but at the same time, I'm very very frustrated. And if this spreads and gets worse, they are going to create a problem that cannot be reversed.

DaP 13, 28 and 29 also have fold-outs (there may be some others). The format depends on the nature of the artwork that's selected. For example, 13 has Dick's hand-written set list from the 2/24/74 show, which wouldn't work (well) in a booklet format.

Last year and this year I ordered 2 sets of Dave's Picks. The first two orders arrived in the same package. Isn't that what one would expect? The third time they arrived in separate packages on the same day. Last time, I just received one. I contacted Dr. Rhino and within a fortnight received the second one. Unfortunately, the second one was not numbered. I looked at it as better to receive than not receive, but I was bummed it wasn't numbered. I'm hoping for better results in 2020.

For anybody still looking for DaP 32:

    I received this message yesterday,

"We have recently shipped out your numbered copy of Dave’s Picks Volume 32, from the Rhino office.

We are very sorry for the delay and inconvenience.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Sincerely,

I followed up with an inquiry regarding tracking information and the email was ignored so fingers crossed it shows up.
