The madness continue, Frisco, Tx., Stonebriar Mall (for Metroplexicans)

Only 5 more as I snagged 7 earlier. Tons of stuff, much of which I already had but, I managed to find these:

Lucinda Williams, Ghosts Of Highway 20, $15
    Love, Revisited, $11
The Replacements, Let It Be (only essential 'mats I didn't own), $10
Brandi Carlile, The Firewatchers Daughter, $12 (Shrinkwrap torn, hypesticker/price tag missing, they checked the URL and it was on sale, shelfwear)
Thom Yorke, Tomorrow's Modern Boxes, $12.50

Zero boxes on sale. Floyd mostly gone. No Creedence. No Stones on sale other than Lonesome and Blue.

Off to another tmrw in a "hipper" part of the area

Having gotten off work early today because of tomorrow's holiday, I did decide to hit up a couple more places I hadn't been to before. Not much I hadn't seen before, but did manage to grab

    Marco Beltrami: Logan
Neko Case: The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You
    Disclosure: Settle
Otis Redding & Irma Thomas: King & Queen
Richard & Linda Thompson: Shoot Out The Lights

After seeing someone report the picked up the Ramones: Rocket To Russia, I tried buying that, hoping it would be 50% off despite there not being a sticker, but it rang up full-price, so I left it behind.

While it does seem that a large portion of what is on sale is consistent from store to store (assuming they have it in stock), I have seen enough differences that suggest that it's not absolute.

And at the other extreme, there were a bunch of LPs I would not have accepted even if BN had given me full price!

Hit two B&N today: Nashua, NH and Burlington, MA. Both had a decent vinyl selection with plenty of titles at 50% off. Here's what I grabbed:

    Nashua, NH
    Neko Case - Hell On - $16.50
    Patty Griffin - 1,000 Kisses - $10
Sara Watkins - Young in All The Wrong Ways - $11
    Sufjan Stevens - Greatest Gift - $10
    Elliott Smith - Either/Or - $14.50
David Rawlings - Poor David's Almanack - $13 (listening to this one now - sounds great!)
The Jayhawks - Paging Mr. Proust - $10
    Tom Petty - Hard Promises - $12.50
Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile - Lotta Sea Lice - $11.50

    Burlington, MA
    Golden Smog - Weird Tales - $15
Jason Isbell - Sirens of the Ditch - $11.50
    The Decemberists - Her Majesty - $11.50

Filled a few holes in the collection and walked away with some records I've really been wanting. Pretty solid outing!

B&N has an exclusive white vinyl edition of You want it Darker. There’s also one for the newest album, Thanks for the Dance. Both were marked half off at my local shop and are well worth getting.

fmfxray373 Capitol LPs in the 70s were pretty good.

I went back Saturday and got the Stones BBC On Air LP along with the Shins Heartworm and Lucinda Williams The Ghost Of Highway 20.

Went today and got Offa Rex for $11.95.
There is a Dead 3LP set Shrine Exposition
    1967 that's about $35 after the discount.

Well I picked up the Grateful Dead Shrine Exposition Hall Los Angeles 11/10/1967 this morning. I can only imagine this going up in price as time goes on. I am a casual Dead head I my not even open it up l0l.
I would say that close to half the vinyl is gone that was there at the beginning of the sell.

Some of the newer releases like Cohen's Thanks For The Dance and Beck's Hyperspace have been restocked without the 50% sticker have no idea if they are still 50% off.

My 50% off vinyl haul from the past couple of days:
    • David Bowie - Stage
    • Cream - Wheels Of Fire (France 2015)
    • David Bowie - Live Nassau Coliseum '76
    • Crosby, Stills & Nash - S/T (Burgundy color vinyl)
    • The Who - Live At The Isle Of Wight (Eagle Records on Red, White & Blue vinyl)
What I had in hand and reluctantly put back (marked at 50% off)
    • David Bowie - Who Can I Be Now (Boxset)
    • Bob Dylan - The Bootleg Series Vol. 12)
I'll probably make one last stop And pick up an Allman Brothers album or two.
I went to the Burbank CA. store and they had very little vinyl set on a table so you may want to avoid that store.

Keep buying more but leaving some more on the shelf :)

Nico: Chelsea Girl (etched by Ron McMaster) 2017 vinyl issue. Sounds Excellent imo. Just a little more surface noise at times than ideal but a cleaning just might be the answer.
The tonality of the music is wonderful though imo. Vocals, orchestral strings, flute, guitars, sound resonant and lovely to me.

    Bruce Springsteen: Magic.
In context, decent bass guitar (and kick drum) bottom sound, imo, on many tracks. The sonic tonality seems a little duller or calmer than what I've heard on the cd all these years and so this is quite a nice if modest surprise to my ears. Lead and backing vocals seem a little more distinct together and have an involving unison and harmony type of choral effect that I find appealing.

To my ears, the sound of the sax doesn't blare nor organ soar, overly so. Max's toms seem relatively clear with a subtle thump when necessary and the snare sound doesn't seem so thwacking and smashing or intrusive.

Probably my favorite 21st century Springsteen album. Solid collection of tunes. Pretty quiet vinyl surface on this copy.
Pleased with the 2 sides of tunes, and like the labels, inner sleeve, and the sound of the vinyl. Bass guitar on Last To Die is deep. Bruce's vocal tone seems well-balanced with the sound of the band and likewise. Long Walk Home has some solid drummimg and enjoyable guitar and sax solos. Didn't know the vinyl included "Terry's Song" as it's not on the back sleeve. Another nice surprise as I like this song.

Still with an at times too claustrophobic, mushy, and smudgy sound, imo, but Magic makes for a great record with 2 really good sides, imo, with
decent sound and at times some smartly spread stereo mixes imo.

Even at around $45, I still couldn't bring myself to grab the Stones' "Their Satanic Majesties Request" box. It's at the Boston location if anyone else is interested.

    I got:

The Verve, "A Storm in Heaven" and "A Northern Soul"
    The Cult, "Pure Cult"
Dead Can Dance, "Into the Labyrinth"
The Jesus and Mary Chain, "Damage and Joy"
    Dusty Springfield, "Dusty in Memphis"

I also saw good titles I already had, such as Slowdive and Ride. Pretty impressive selection in the city, but I did stop at a suburban one and the pickings were slim.

Alright, you guys convinced me to stop by my local B&N here in Kendall.

I picked up five titles. I could’ve easily grabbed a few more but some had quite a bit of shelf wear and some were rewraps that looked rough.

    Here’s what I got:

    - The Magpie Salute - S/T

    - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Lovely Creatures (The Best Of Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds) (1984-2014)

    - The Pogues - The Best Of The Pogues

    - The Mavericks - Brand New Day, Red Vinyl (B&N Exclusive)

    - Wilco - Star Wars, Red Translucent (B&N Exclusive)
