I've got Bombay Bicycle Club and Grimes on the list for this year, but not come across anything else so far.

Has any site published a looking forward list yet?

I think this is self-manufactured myth to be honest in an attempt to make them appear more interesting.

There are a couple records I like that were released digitally in 2019 but have a physical release date in 2020. Do those count?

Looks like ol Neil will be getting my hard earned cash once again with Homegrown. It's all right with me Homegrown is the way it should be.

Other than Drive By Truckers and Dinosaur JR, a pretty unimpressive list.

That Stereogum list is largely speculative. Only the ones listed with dates and titles are real at this point. There will be more announced past the first quarter of the year. I always find nothing much happens for the first 3 or 4 months that sparks the imagination.

The Stereogum 2019 list included The Hold Steady, and I thought that was nonsense. That band had specifically said they preferred to do digital singles here and there. And then an album showed up in the summer! So I have faith in the Stereogum list

    I can't wait for Homegrown.
It HAS to be released this time! Fingers crossed.

Another record that might be my favorite 2020 release is this one:

I've never heard of this band and singer before, but someone posted this song on another thread and I loved it. The kind of thing I'm into lately. It's an EP and will be released in march.

Aren't albums dead? I'm sure there's a thread here saying albums are dead. Probably more than one.

Trevor William Church has added some synths to his classic metal sound. Songwriting here is life affirming and grandiose. This is the sound of a band hitting its stride - a kinetic cruise. A criticism of Haunt may be that they are retro worship, yet there is a strong sense of individual sonics to it. Viva heavy metal!

so far i have found only 1 EP i am interested in for 2020 and that would be huey lewis and news - weather.

the beginning of 2020 looks like it will be very reminiscent of most early year droughts of new music
