    Hi!

    It's 2020. A new decade ... yet most of VHS/Laserdisc/DVD concerts have never been edited on Blu Ray. Let alone the previously unreleased vaults ones.

    What are your fav concerts on those old formats you'd love to see on Blu Ray?

    have fun

    I'll start with a wonderful concert. Yes back to their prime in the 90s
    It was well documented with the beautiful 2 double CD album 'Keys To Ascension'.

    Sadly, the video is unwatchable. Loaded with silly and dated effects.

    It's quite possible that the 3 complete nights were filmed. So, as Pink Floyd did, I'd LOVE a brand new edit and transfer from the master tapes, along with a beautifully remixed soundtrack in stereo and 5.1

    The Beatles - Anthology

    Can't believe it's been more than 15 years, yet they still haven't released the set on Blu Ray

    With literally hours of footage they could add. And of course, upgrading all the promo clips from 1+ Blu Ray.

    Springsteen Born in the USA tour. Several shows were filmed by NFL Films and other than some usage in the Born to Run video to promote the Live 75-85 box set none of it has ever been released. Would love to see the Hammersmith concert from the Born to Run box released on Blu Ray as well.

    On DVD, should be on blu ray

    *Springsteen; New York 2000, Barcelona 2002 (in desperate need of a remix though)
    *Fogerty; Long Road Home, Albert Hall (hell, Red Rocks...)
    * Queen & Paul Rodgers; all 3 DVD’s
    * Meat Loaf - Melbourne 2004 (w symphony)
    * Kiss - Rock the Nation (preferably with a less hectic edit. Last time Paul Stanley sounded good)

    Ready Steady Go stuff.

    There were some VHS releases in the 80's, I have the Otis special, but I believe nothing much since as the guy from the Dave Clark 5 owns it all and either is sitting on it or wants too much money to licence it. But the wealth of essential material really needs a high profile release with the best picture and sound possible.

    I have ever I think is the majority of the surviving Ready Steady Go material and it isn't much at all. It's mostly from 1964. I'd love to be wrong. This is the missing show I'd most like to be found. Marc Bolan in 1966, Hendrix on the same show, Ready Steady Who, Prince Buster, James Brown. So much great stuff that probably doesn't exist now.

    As far as VHS releases not out on DVD go:

    Status Quo - End of the Road
    Chas & Dave - A Great Night in with... (I'm not kidding! I'd love to see and own this.)

    A totally reworked Queen Rare Live set would have potential to be amazing. Massively expanded with as much material as possible. It would be a good way to gather good but not perfect quality live footage from Hyde Park 1976 and from foreign TV.

    I'm not sure that those were captured on film. NFL Films seems to have been involved in the editing portion, not the recording, according this 1987 article. Springsteen's "own video crew" did the recording according to the article, although it doesn't specify if that was on videotape or film.

    Sky TV show it in Hi-Def but with only stereo sound, whereas the DVD had Dolby 5.1.

    I remember at the time the DVD came out it was stated they didn't want to release it on Blu-Ray due to the additional cost.

    The Laserdisc released just 45 minutes of this holy grail footage from the '76 tour with Mr. Bruford. Tony Maylem reportedly has the raw footage from two shows in his possession. If a show (or shows) needed a Blu-Ray release, its these.

    One can hope...
