I went to Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience on my birthday a few years ago at the Greek Theater (L.A.) and heard him announce that it was his late famous Dad's birthday as well.

The very first Dylan bio I ever read (a 1966 quickie paperback called Folk-Rock: The Bob Dylan Story) showed his DOB as May 21, 1941. I was on cloud nine until I found out it was actually 3 days later.

Almost forgot Fats Waller, who made some of his recordings in Camden, NJ — just a couple miles from where I'm sitting.

Interestingly enough, I share a birthday with two of my fave icons: Bryan Ferry and John Foxx. We'll not count Pat Benatar...

Captain Beefheart and Gene Krupa. It is only right that I both have music in my collection by them and appreciate highly what they did for us, musically. For years I believed it was Chuck Berry too but that was from a book that stated it erroneously and I've never seen that anywhere since. Yes, it would have been even cooler, but...

If I were to mention that Martin Luther King's birthday was also on the same day as the two 'real' ones, then some of you here will likely have it worked out that this was Wednesday gone. :)

Today's paper reveals that I share a birthday (give or take 15 years or so) with Andy Fairweather-Low. Seems reasonable as I may get Wide Eyed & Legless at some pint.....
