They definitely changed their style compared to their first couple which were more raw but they kept their signature. Yes, they are all good/great.

    Cool.

My friends always told me I'd like them, and I should check them out. This was 15-20 years ago.

Just getting around to it now. Never too late...

Me and a friend checked them out live last friday for the first time. No exposure to their music other than watching a couple of video's years ago.
So we went in pretty much blind and not knowing what to expect. Blown Away. They just killed it. Wow. What a show.

    Tool newbie here.
Am I correct in thinking there is no vinyl version of 10,000 Days, and no vinyl reissue of Aenima?

That is correct. 10k days has never officially been released on LP by Tool. Neither has Salival.

Any of these that you come across on LP are bootlegs, mostly sourced from either the CD or mp3

Aenima has had no official release outside of the original pressings. Once again, this has been extensively bootlegged, usually sourced from CD or mp3

Legends all of them (and Tom Morello). Where are the new rock bands taking up the mantle? Am I just missing them?

They’re out there, but they’re not getting the radio push that 1990’s bands enjoyed. Try the band Karnivool out of Australia, and their albums Themata and Sound Awake.

Another good group from the same country is Cog (check out their album The New Normal, produced by Sylvia Massy who also produced Tool’s Undertow).

Still no vinyl? I hadn't heard anything so I thought I would check this thread in case I missed it but nope..nothing. I don't get what the delay is.

    Yep, ain't gonna be cheap.

Really hope it's not an RSD thing though.

    It is isn't?

Yeah, if this was a record store day limited exclusive it would really suck. I doubt it though. I would think Tool would want to sell as many copies as possible, especially if the price is high.

This. It would make no sense for this to be an RSD release considering how many they'd sell.

just like it would make no sense to have a cd version doesn't cost ~ $90 outside the US to buy...

That's what gets me, it might not make sense for the vinyl to be an RSD but like you said, it made no sense for the CD/video one to be so over priced outside the USA.
my gut tells me this is gonna be RSD and all the trouble, price, flippers etc that comes with it.

I thought that if they were going to do one, that it would have been done by now.
But I'm more than happy to stick with the European white vinyl version I picked up. It's quiet and sounds really good. I was surprised!
