I've been binge watching movies lately and in the mood for westerns. I have always loved the Clint Eastwood man with no name movies, but I just watched High Plains Drifter and Pale Rider for the first time, and really, really enjoyed them. Clint does a great job of making you believe he is the baddest dude on the planet. Then I got to thinking about all the movies he directed or starred in that were not just about someone kicking a** like The Mule. As much as I love his acting, he might just be a better director than actor. As a huge Charlie Parker fan, I have always loved Bird, and thought he did a good job of telling the story. It's hard t come up with many actors or directors that have so successfully covered such a broad range of material, let alone those that did both acting and directing. What a huge talent. He has made so many movies, but I am going to try to see all of them. So far none have disappointed.
I liked The Mule as well, and the Saga of Richard jewell was even better. Bird and Mystic River too, but I haven't seen a lot of his newer Director projects since the WWII films.
I like a lot of his films, especially the earlier, funnier ones. Not convinced by his acting. He almost spoils A Perfect World! Those I like a lot: The three Leone films High Plains Drifter The Outlaw Josey Wales Unforgiven The Beguiled Thunderbolt and Lightfoot Dirty Harry Mystic River Bird The two Iwo Jima films (though I prefer the Japanese one) Play Misty In the Line of Fire Tightrope Honkytonk Man A Perfect World Changeling Escape from Alcatraz Those I don't much care for: Firefox Every/Any Which Way The Harry films after The Enforcer City Heat Invictus The Gauntlet Pink Cadillac The Rookie Heartbreak Ridge The Eiger Sanction Breezy Hereafter The others are somewhere in between, though I have a particular soft spot for Magnum Force, Coogan's Bluff and Pale Rider I confess I haven't seen some of his later films, like Jersey Girls or 15:17 to Paris I quite like t
Naw- most of his films can be had for little money on Blu Ray. I just got a 7 movie collection for like $20.
Unless it is a favorite of mine I will try to stream as many as I can. I probably already own over a third of the collection. Almost $400 is just too much money.
Been a lifelong fan of Mr. Eastwood. His passion for his craft is palpable and his work as a director is outstanding.
I really haven't seen an Eastwood film that I didn't enjoy. Beguiled would probably be my least favorite of what I've seen. The Dirty Harry movies, and Every Which Way but Loose would probably be my favorites.
I didn't like ' Flags Of Our Fathers ' at all and almost passed on ' Letters From Iwo Jima ' but picked it up and was glad I did. Great movie.
this past year my wife and I watched every single Clint movie...it was a blast even the ones he directed...
Clint Eastwood is my favorite actor... I own a lot of his films on DVD, but never went out of my way to watch a film he directed/produced that he didn't also star in.
Rain an stormy weather can't hurt the leather...CLINT FOR LIFE-are you kiddin me? if Clint-stars in or directs I'm watching!!
As already mentioned, 15:17 is pretty bad. Although not his absolute worst... 'Amazing Stories: Vanessa in the Garden'
