The photo was intentional but the sleeping was real.

 

Evidently Keith loved that suit and wore it every day. I think it's in Pete's book.

I have seen that picture before with the kids looking at the boys. Never had the import so maybe it was in Mojo

 

50 years ago today, The Who performed in Amsterdam, Netherlands - at Concertgebouw on January 30th, 1970.

One of my favorites too! Photographer Michael Zagaris' story behind that pic--

"...we did mescaline before the show. I remember shooting part of the show from a television camera position and then it started really coming on. There was a balcony in the back that was closed off, so I went up there, but by that point I was tripping pretty hard. This is right at the end of their encore, and it turned out to be a really iconic image. Pete had thrown his guitar up, and everybody in the whole place was on their feet and they were roaring, and the whole building was just shaking. I remember Moon got up and then collapsed over the drum kit-cymbals fell onto the ground-and Townshend and Entwistle ended up grabbing him, one by each ankle, and dragging him off stage."

Keith's girlfriend Annette Walter-Lax was an incredible beauty and a genuine nice person - hard to believe he couldn't get his act together having her as a partner.

 

Why can't i see so many photos here?

 

It depends on what you mean exactly.

If you see [ img ], then that is usually a browser issue, but you can right click and select View Image.

If you mean the image has disappeared, with the change several years ago to the forums NOT hosting image files we can only post links to images, and if those links disappear/are removed then the URL links no longer work.

Best concert of my entire life. This was in Dayton, Ohio. ^ (One of three times seeing The Who - twice with Keith Moon.)

 

Thankfully, most of this Dayton show is "out there" - and in pretty good quality to boot, eh?
