Craig easily could have had an additional 2-3 films in his tenure since I think they were very keen to keep the momentum up from Casino. I think this has been an issue since Licence to Kill and the need they have to compete with other action movies. It really affected Brosnan and his tenure since I feel his films suffered heavily from them trying to be contemporary with what action films were doing in the late-90s.

That, on its own, isn’t particularly indicative – however, a source also echoed the previous stories. Allegedly, Bond’s latest outing is currently running at 174 minutes, just six minutes off that magic three-hour mark (it’s also still being edited).

    Ehhhhh, close enough.

I think breaking his ankle on the previous film was kind of the final straw, and he only agreed to come back for one more if they gave him a definitive final episode.

Nobody cares about a 3 hours movie if it's good. I like JB movies anyway so 3 hours is fine with me.

This might be the first film in the franchise to hold footage
    in reserve for a "director's cut" blu-ray.

Wasn't OHMSS almost 3 hrs long? That's arguably the best Bond film imo until CR.

OHMSS had a iconic soundtrack, CR? Serviceable.

    It was 142 minutes.

Daniel Craig’s Bond movies are both the shortest (Quantum of Solace) and the longest (the other three) in the series. Spectre is the longest at 160 min.

    Thunderball 2 hours 6 minutes.
    OHMSS 2 hours 22 minutes.

    Craig's movies are the longest.
If NO TIME TO THINK is really 180 minutes it will be the longest of the longest.

    Makes no sense.

Harrison Ford got out without any problems, as did William Shatner.

Charleton Heston got out of the Apes franchise is a movie that was 1:35.

Spectre - such as it was - is 148 mins... a good 20 minutes too long, in my opinion; a two-hour movie in a two-and-a-half hour bag...

If No Time to Die really is close to three hours long, it damn well better be something special... franchise movies are frankly getting absurd in their running times these days (with one or two notable exceptions like Avengers: Endgame)...

Hoping for a great final Bond movie... let's finish this thing on a good note...

I'm okay with the current character ending on a good note or any
note at all so long he ends.

But I want the franchise to continue. Let there be a reboot with the
character as portrayed in Dr. No and From Russia With Love only
in a modern setting. Find a talented, athletic actor from Scotland |
Wales | England | Ireland in his mid-to-late twenties who will grow
    into 007 every two years.

Oops bad Google info. It seems like it was still the longest until now, though.

Find nothing appealing about Bond 25, especially the films running time.

I would dearly love to see a confident Agent James Bond 007 just going on a mission again !

all this 'going behind M's back' / 'going it alone' / 'wounded animal with issues' / 'resigning from his job'

...oh and the obligatory 'traitor right under their noses' - has been DONE TO DEATH over and over and it would be SO refreshing to just have a Bond film where he goes on a mission for a change...

Exactly. The movies no longer do anything for me as the character in the recent films has become so far removed from the Bond as originally created. That’s why I’ve gone back to reread the Fleming novels to rediscover the real 007.

The last five entries in the franchise have been neurotic and agenda-driven.

Time to go back to a spy-thriller-adventure without all the baggage of guilt
    trips and female authority issues.

Not while Babs Broccoli is in charge... and I say that as someone who has greatly enjoyed three out of the four Craig 007 films to date...

I honestly don't know where else this franchise and character can go; if any time was a good time to hang up the Walther PPK before the rot - ideological or otherwise - sets in, the upcoming new film is as good a time as any... although I literally and already can't stand the mere sight of Lashana Lynch and that's just from the trailers (although I found her very likeable in Captain Marvel, it has to be said, but she just doesn't have the character to be convincing double-O material)...

As I've said before, once Craig is done with Bond, so am I... it's been one HELL of a good run (25 movies in 58 years), but my interest level can only sustain one more, short of a radical and creatively invigorating new take; if it's just business as usual after Craig, I'm out for good.

Once Agenda 'box ticking' becomes the obsession - that is forever attempting to 're-educate us' to the 'proper' way of thinking....any franchise is doomed as the core fanbase gives up while the 'modern' audience loses interest quickly

Question - does Daniel Craig's Bond ever change expression ?

    for me he simply has zilch charisma and dressed up just looks like a night club 'bouncer' - the sort Connery's Bond would kick between the legs and then help him out doubled up while telling a concerned lady onlooker;

    'I shouldn't have the fish....'
