whats the best Van Morrison album from the 60s/70s. I’m going to include everything where Van is a main contributor so this includes the 2 Them albums, the collaboration albums and the live releases.

Come back tomorrow for Best Of The 80s Poll!

Not entirely fair to put ITLTSN on the list, but you did and I voted for it, because it is the peak of Western Civilization.

T'were it not there, I wouldst have voted for Saint Dominic's Preview, cuz no explanation required.

Of course, the correct answer is Veedon Fleece, and you're not wrong if you say Astral Weeks.

The album has its moments, but if I never hear the song 'Moondance' again, that would be OK.

(The Japan SHM-CD w/bonus tracks is nice).

Hard to choose one. Lately I love Them Again, so that is my pick.

' Moondance ' in the lead...how predictable. Great album though. But I'll go to the other end of the 70s spectrum and pick 'Into The Music. '

Into The Music is a superb album. I would have been perfectly satisfied casting a vote for it. (Similar to Neil Young in this time period, practically impossible to single out just one.)

Lots of excellent releases. There are at least 4-5 albums that I easily could have chosen. For me, Moondance is where he put it all together. Moondance is uniformly great from beginning to end.

My favorite Van Morrison studio record has always been a toss up between Tupelo Honey and Into The Music, however my overall fav would be It’s Too Late To Stop Now.

Yeah, I tried, but it's impossible for me to pick one. Here is my four-way tie for first:
    • Astral Weeks
    • Saint Dominic's Preview
    • Veedon Fleece
    • Into the Music
I love almost all the others, too.

A terrific run of albums from Astral Weeks through to Veedon Fleece, with Moondance my choice as the best of them.

Wanted to go with Veedon Fleece as the hipster's choice, but as much as I love the record, it's definitely Astral Weeks for me.

Astral Weeks for me, in fact I’d put it as best album of all time!. Veedon Fleece in second spot - the Vinyl Me Please reissue of that is on my turntable a lot.

I went with IT'S TOO LATE TO STOP NOW. It's one of the all-time live sets and that we got additional discs drawn from the same concerts was incredible. Even if the rest of the Van Morrison catalog never enjoys this level of reissue, I'm happy we did get this one.
