Brandi Carlile is a fantastic choice. Let's hope it is paired with a special RSD release

I'm hoping for something from Let It Be.
Perhaps they're saving everything for the big box later this year, but still...

They did it for RSD 2017 with the SFF/PL single before the Pepper box was released.

How about 'Teddy Boy' b/w 'Save The Last Dance For Me?'

Let's see, two songs Sony/ATV doesn't control and one puts money in Sir Jim's pocket.

Odd they didn't do anything on RSD 2018 to tie in with the White Album box.

Nothing for Madonna yet? There’s been rumors of a possible anniversary reissue for Like a Prayer, but it looks like it’s just a rumor at this point.

has anything from WBR/Rhino been “confirmed” yet?

Most of the things leaked so far are from Warner/Parlophone. Not long before we get the full list, though.

  11. I'm hoping for some Japanese cheesecake or a Daniel Johnston reissue of Artistic Vice. A greater compilation of Outsider music would be fun. I've never been able to find an original pressing of Kinks Kronikles so I'm looking forward to this reissue. The Sabbath looks great. The Dead Buffalo Chips is already plentifully available for free. Why spend the money on that?

The LAP deluxe will probably be a general release. I wouldn't be surprised if we got Remixed Prayers though given how many of the Japanese remix EPs from the 80s have gotten RSD releases in the last few years

Apparently the Beatles have an agreement to not release any new singles. Commercially at least. PL/SFF was a re release and that's about all you'll get now.

I believe this is a wide release timed with RSD, so not as limited as RSD-exclusive stuff and I think it's available to pre-order.

If I don't like something, my rule of thumb is, "don't post your negative thoughts/views in a forum thread that pleases lots of people" but for RSD, I'm afraid I have to make an exception.

RSD is a corporate cash grab, piggy-backing on a once noble idea to help struggling record stores/shops and is now a means of extracting cash from record buyers by offering special editions in limited quantities at over inflated values.

Sorry to be a hater, but its where I'm at. I'm not playing at a once a year "Record Store Day" because every day is a day to visit and spend money in a record store/shop. Not just some day the industry has decided to make a fast buck/pound/euro etc on.

No kidding -- it's definitely gotten a little out of hand in recent years. But sometimes (not all the time, of course) those special editions are actually interesting and desirable. I've sat out the last RSD and RSD Black Friday because of the queueing early in the morning to get things that aren't really high on my list, but keep in mind we haven't even seen the official list yet and there could be something you or I enjoy that'll make us get out of bed (or support our indie stores with a click the following Monday.) Corporate cash-grab or not, there have been times I've gone into the shop on RSD and hear the manager and employees talking about their sales that day with excitement and pride that their shop can remain open.

Right now, nothing is really jumping out at me as a must-buy, but I think it's a little early to judge the list we haven't seen yet. I just figured people might want to know some of what's on the way, whether they support the idea of RSD or not.

These would actually get me out on RSD, but I doubt any store where I live will be stocking them

Call your local and let them know you're interested in the titles. That's how I was able to get a couple UK Bert Jansch reissues a few RSDs ago. Here's the complete info on the Embryo titles:

    Embryo - Opal (color vinyl)
    Label: Loneos/mat.son
    UPC: 0783586061886

Embryo - Embryos Rache (color vinyl)
    Label: Loneos/mat.son
    UPC: 0783586061893

What an original thought! I've never heard anyone call it a "cash grab" before!

Yes. It was designed to be a "cash grab", genius. Record stores were going out of business. RSD was designed to help them make money so they could stay in business.

Real Gone Music is a reputable label. They’re a third party reissue label that works closely with the majors to reissue all kinds of stuff.
