When it comes to Dennis The Menace, I prefer the 1960s sitcom overall, but definitely the best Mr. Wilson is Joseph Kearns in my book.

I'm in a minority but I like the 2nd "Anchorman" more than the first!

Nah - it's no classic, but it's reasonably amusing. So's the sequel!

Well, unfortunately, as he's never made a good movie , I guess we'll never know.

That film gets a bad rap. I like it - it's not as good as the 1984 film, but it's better than "Ghostbusters II"!

If you want a bad, unfunny Paul Feig film, go see "Last Christmas". Atrocious!

This just this. Was anyone really clamoring for a sequel to the Blues Brothers 18 years after the first one and without John Belushi as well? Not only is this an unfunny movie it's just a flat-out terrible movie. I could go on but I don't want to write a long-winded rant about it.

Great thread to illustrate just how subjective humor can be. There are many comedies posted I find funny, and just as many posts defending the humor of things I could not find less funny.

Well, $$$ for one. The studio thought a "Ghostbusters" reboot could've generated big bucks.

It didn't, but clearly they still think there's gold in them thar ghosts since there's another "Ghostbusters" flick due this summer.

Also, I suspect those involved thought they were making a good movie - and I agree with them.

Honestly don't get the hate for "GB16". It's an entertaining movie!

I didn't see it (I only get to see a few movies a year and this one was way down on my list) but my co-worker did. His take was that it seemed like they started out with a decent script but, while shooting, they had to make changes as some bits weren't working. However, once they made the changes, a bunch of the jokes didn't make sense anymore - or at least weren't nearly as effective. In other words, there were set-ups that didn't pay off, or didn't pay off as well as they should have.

He didn't hate it, he said it was just disappointing.

I will defend Look Who's Talking Now to my death. Is someone seriously going to tell me it wasn't remotely funny in the dream sequence when Kirstie makes the "bad boss lady" vanish and 2 silicone implants fall to the floor, followed by the quip "I knew it!!!."

I'm there too, and having 2 different versions with totally different jokes helps as well.

This one may have been mentioned already (I'm not gonna skim thru 37 pages of thread to find out for sure) but I recently saw this legendary dumpster fire for the first time, and it definitely qualifies for this thread.

Because it demonstrates how our current Hollywood 'mentality' can subvert even the most fun and iconic franchises
with flat, lame writing and mediocre performances.

I have trouble with most modern comedies. A lot of dumb stupid stuff. Cant take it.

Nothing is funnier for me than Laurel & Hardy. W C Fields too.
