Aside from what was shown in the initial half hour ABC feature, extensive one on one interviews were also filmed with most band members and when I last looked were still on YouTube. Please also note that there also exists an official 2DVD edition of Ladies And Gentlemen that features Australian 73' tour interviews on disc 2!
Yes a poignant appearance as she died soon after at a young age. I believe her respected Rock Encyclopedia was published in 1969.
John I assume the glossy photos with the Japanese text would be from the long running Stone People magazines.
That interview/press conference was in Europe 73' and has been heavily booted on LP & CD. Taylor sounds very straight even if he didn't look it and only gets to really comment in any detail on a couple of points. If needs be I could find the country, date, hotel & interviewers name.
For @DTK as you asked me what was the point. For one I can't assume a cleaned up Keith on his 73-76 output wouldn't be delivering better studio output than from say 80-86. In fact I would almost definitely say he would be - given the highly prestigious run he had just previously played a part in.
Thanks The Beave. On a slightly wider point the Stones have survived in a way that in 1973/74/75 or 76 was not really predictable. If I went back to 74 in the Dr Who Tardis and told Mick and Keef that in 2020 1. Mick would be a Sir, 2. Keef would still be alive, and the Stones could sell out a series of shows in any venue they like in the UK and most of the world I think they would call me nuts.
Yes, I mentioned above songwriting wasn't the only reason he left. However, I have read that Rose was pushing him on the songwriting issue.
I also imagine the record company types were telling him they would make him the next Eric Clapton/Jeff Beck if he went solo.
Thanks for this, Mick reaching for the big bottle of JD, love it. Inviting Keith to get hammered, ha.
Sept 1, 1973 The Rolling Stones pose at a press conference to promote their album 'Goats Head Soup' in a restaurant in Munich Germany.
Keith looking quite healthy and chipper. EDIT: Even Mick looks pretty burnt! Man, that '72 tour really took a toll on them. Don't even think Keith is 30 yet in this photo, Mick barely.
Tins of Goats Head soup are delivered to a Rolling Stones press conference to promote the album 'Goats Head Soup' in a restaurant in Munich, Germany in September 1973.
