Hello all, as a long time Waylon lover just wondering what is the best live cd that he ever put out.
I have the Waylon live expanded edition and play the hell out of it.

    thanks

You are set for life. There's not really a close second, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Never Say Die. There's a certain charm to one of his last performances and the band is terrific. And besides that, the only others that come to mind are ACL shows and the US Festival. Pass.

You got the best with 'expanded'. A couple others you might check out though...
As mentioned, the 'Austin City Limits' shows.
    My favorite is:

Waylon is in top form here, we looks and sounds great!
Really healthy looking too, and with his vocals back in flight after nearly
    10 years of sounding 'hoarse'.
If you like his Telecaster playing, it's front up here and he wails on some great solo's.
Available as a DVD/CD or DVD or CD editions too.

Another one that might be of some interest, is 'The Lost Nashville Sessions'.

This is Waylon and The Waylors recording live in the studio in 1970.
These were recorded for the use in recruitment radio broadcasts.
They have been 'tweaked' but still interesting.
You can sample the songs on youtube.

This one is pretty good too, he is in good shape too.
To me however, it seems and it has a feel of lets do this and get out of here.
Doesn't 'flex' like the 89' show. It's almost too perfect too polished.
Personally speaking, 'Waylon' and 'Polished' don't belong in the same sentence.
Waylon's guitar solo's are pretty light on too.
    Worth having just the same.

Did anyone see PBS’ recent Waylon Jennings, The Outlaw Performance, Nashville 1978. The concert was taped but never released. I sure would like to get this DVD, but it appears one must become a member of PBS to get it.

It’s out there to be had. Maybe only used at this point, but can be had. I believe that when I bought it years ago, it was under the title of The Lost Outlaw Performance. Or similar.

I also recommend the Cracker Barrel store exclusive CD "Live In Concert," which is a performance from 1995.

Also, Waylon's "Setlist" CD, which features 12 tracks recorded from 1983-2000.
