Now listening to 3/25/91[Albany NY]on TIGDH on SiriusXM's Grateful Dead channel via the webstream now playing The Other one
That's an excellent idea. I wish that I could excavate my copy easily, if only for the supplemental materials. Reckoning, in particular...
Ironic, coming from a fellow who should have been given life without parole for using fake prescriptions.
I went to a phish festival at an airforce base in northern NY, and the most memorable part was that beer and burrito I bought. (sorry to our loyal phishermen, it just didn't make it for me.) The crazy part is tickets for the weekend were 1/3 of what it wouldve cost to see D&C last time they came around. I actually turned 21 in prison doing life without parole.
Settle down Beavis, this isn't the coronavirus thread. But in all seriousness, and in deference to our friends on all sides of the political spectrum, maybe we should talk about how Phil is also responsible for the flub in morning dew on the go to Nassau release, even though Garcia is more audible.
I heard a rumor that @Dr. Luther's Assistant has been discussing politics, religion and elicit drugs here while simultaneously trolling, spamming and threadcrapping. Watch out for that guy.
Been fully into 12/26/79, Dicks Picks 5. My personal favorite disc (cd listener here) is disc 2. The beginning of the second set, and it’s flawless to me... Uncle Johns Band - complete with the acapella harmony ending with crowd handclaps, Estimated Prophet - leading into a fantastic jam where Phil seems to drop a Caution bassline He’s Gone - my favorite version is 12/19/73 but this one is up there with it The Other One - the beginning is my favorite moment in the show, where Phil’s bass melts my brain out of the slow he’s gone anyway I have only been listening to the Grateful Dead for like 6 months so please excuse me if my notes are stupid but I love lurking this thread and I am completely obsessed with this band!
Momma tried to raise you better, but with you she couldn't win, and that's why you became the Evil Twin.
Momma tried to raise me better, but her rules were lost on me I couldn't see, so I remain the West Coast b'gt. Everybody! I'm a lefty, so I'd let even that guy walk even after three or so years. BUT NO RADIO SHOW. Although I'm not sure that sort of restraint on occupation is, um, Constitutional and stuff. edit: I'm listening to an old CD-R boot someone gave me, called "Between Sets." It features: Darkstar>China Cat Sunflower>Eleven>Lovelight (2.14.68, Carousel Ballroom, SF) Thats It For The Other One>New Potato Caboose>Born Cross Eyed>Spanish Jam (2.14.68, Carousel Ballroom, SF)) Darkstar>Thats It For The Other One (CA 11.01.68) It was a gift of sorts from a tax attorney. Hey, am I alone in feeling that I must have been in the mafia, and then I got pinched 'cuz of a snitch, but because I own the right judges, I'm under house arrest?
Have you heard the Good News? Let's talk about Jesus so I get perma-banned. Liberty Capped, if you will.
I'm sure the dynamic was a lot different, but they were doing multi-night stands as early as 1979 (at least). Three nights at Nassau, two nights in Philly, two nights on Cape Cod from the fall tour. I think I've heard that about you.
I saw 3 nights at MSG in September of '79, then a bunch of shows in Upstate NY and NE through the early 80's, so I experienced both sides of the equation. After Touch of Grey things were altogether different in terms of venues and crowds. And obviously there was many a fine show in that latter period.
