One of my favorite songs by Stevie, "Talk To Me", was written by Chas Sandford, who co-wrote "Missing You" for John Waite in 1984.

I remember being totally stunned that he didn't write Lost Highway.
However, his self penned Ramblin Man and I Heard That Lonesome Whistle Blow are similar.

All great songs but Dan versions are sublime!

Edit: Just noticed the OP asked for just one. I'll go with The Outlaw.

My favourite country song is Lost Highway by Hank Williams but it was actually written by the great Leon Payne.

Megon McDonough's cover of Stars written by Dan Fogelberg. I was thrilled to record a home studio version with her many years after the original was released.

He wrote that, though with a different lyricist than usual. "Nobody Wins" was the one he didn't write.

This goes way back but I like the Mason Williams version of Tim Hardin’s “Reason to Believe”.
