Liza Minnelli's last name is very often spelt 'Minelli', e. g. at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. Oh well, Freddie is sometimes spelt 'Freddy'...
In 1967 UA released the LP "Solid Goldsboro". My original copy from back then listed on the cover "Whenever He Holds You" as "Whenever He Holds Me". Pretty much changes everything about the song "not that there's anything wrong with that". (It took them years to correct their mistake).
On his album 'Career Moves', Loudon Wainwright has a song called 'T.S.M.N.W.A.' (They Spelled My Name Wrong Again). Conspiration theory: Louden Wainwright and Freddy Mercury were born the same day, Sept. 5, 1946.
The (1963) second issue of "The Marvelettes Sing" LP on Tamla (originally titled "Smash Hits 0f '62") had their name spelled as "Marveletts" on the front cover The Marvelettes - The Marvelettes Sing
A very famous one: The Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run first pressing with Jon Landau´s name misspelled. Corrected it by placing a sticker on all copies: Nice article on the first pressings and their variations: Vinyl Hunting & Collecting: a Bruce Springsteen record collector's log from the Far East: BORN TO RUN US pressing LP variants: Album credit variations
Given the "And His Orchestra" credit on the label shown in that clip, I ask: Where's the "Vocal by Bobby Bare" credit?
There was a Carlo Santanna. He was a guitarist for Paper Lace (of original "Billy, Don't Be A Hero" and "The Night Chicago Died" fame). Thus one has to wonder whom Ms. Hill meant to thank - him, or . . .
I suppose we should be thankful that US MGM (which by then had their gold-and-cyan "yin-yang" labels, the 45 designed differently from the LP) didn't release this.
