Any cool sci-fi/fantasy (I've enjoyed The Expanse) or westerns. Modern, old, TV, or movie. Thanks!

Didn't like MAN ON THE HIGH CASTLE, for what it's worth.

The wife and I watched "Britannia"----not bad...
Think of a "Games Of Thrones" set in Roman-occupied Britain!
Still waiting to Season Two to show up!

I just googled to see the storyline, which I like, but why didn't you like it? Was the storyline good but poor writing/acting?

Bender Rodriguez RIP Exene, best dog ever. 2005-2016

Counterpart is pretty great sci-fi espionage.

Very poor narrative drive, borderline non-existent character development, although they tried to do more of this in the second season when I bailed. And for something based on a literary work, too many episodes felt like they were written just to get another hour out. All bread and no meat.

And, what really holds it together, for me, is the sprinkles of 'humour' (with a 'u')!

I enjoyed Mozart in the Jungle. Not serious, not historical but interesting characterizations and sometimes bonkers storylines wrapping a deep love of music. The actors go deep with their characters and show nuance. The storylines show how much music is a religion and drug that will run your life and enhance it. If nothing else jump to the third season when they go to Venice to stage an opera.

We just binge watched “Band of Brothers”.
19(!) years later and it’s just as good.

    Highest possible recommendation!

The Boys. What if 99% of superheroes were total d-bags? Not a spoiler.

Bosch. New season starts this month. One of the best crime dramas I've ever seen.

One short-lived series (9 episodes) I particularly liked was Jack Taylor. Jack's an alcoholic ex-cop (he got fired off the force) in Galway, Ireland. Great acting, interesting stories. Jack is played by Iain Glen (who played Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones). Technically, to see it on Amazon Prime I think you have to sign up for a free trial of Acorn; if you have Netflix, I think all the episodes are available there.

Rather good; glad Prime picked it up recently. Some may think it drags in the first season, I did not.

JK Simons deserved a nomination for his character work.

This is a series made for SHF members. More involved with music and the politics of an orchestra, than any other mainstream series I've ever seen...and the female lead is ravishing.

Don't binge too fast; savor it like dessert!

Indeed; somewhere I have a quote we were supposed to get it last November. By the time they get around to it, that little girl's gonna be Queen of the Celts, and Claudius is gonna send Aulus to America to conquer Rick and the Zombies. :waiting:

I've already seen the Season 2 premiere. This series sort of reminds me of how Tarantino re-told WWII, the way the Celts make fools of the freakin' Roman Army...lotsa chuckles!
