Art Pepper meets The Rhythm Section (Contemporary/OJC Remasters) CD Alto Saxophone – Art Pepper Bass – Paul Chambers Drums – Philly Joe Jones Piano – Red Garland All tracks recorded 1957 - The 24-bit remaster by Joe Tarantino was issued in 2010 and includes the bonus track - 'The Man I Love'. *Can't figure the need to remaster (again) what was a splendid OJC remaster in the first instance. This 'Remasters' remaster sounds slightly louder than the original OJC CD - and I can't imagine anyone wanting it that way if given a choice.
Friday Night at the Village Vanguard - ART PEPPER (Contemporary/OJC) CD - 1991 remaster with Art Pepper (alto & tenor sax), George Cables (piano), George Mraz (bass), Elvin Jones (drums) Recorded 1977 - CD edition includes bonus track A Night In Tunisia Fabulous music in excellent sound quality.
I have had the XRCD for years and find it to be exceptional. Art Pepper – Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section Label: JVC – XRCD 60087 Format: CD, Album, XRCD Released: 27 Feb 2001
