Departure Chandelier - Forever Faithful to the Emperor From the album, Antichrist Rise to Power, which revolves around the rise and fall of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.

There r There r lots of good things on that list but: Deafheaven? Epic fail No Veilburner? Epic fail The Satanist at 100? Epic fail
Haha, I only have two albums from that top 100. One I never listen to (Ghost) and one that I’m reminded it has been too long since I’ve played (The Devil’s Blood)!
I've got 25 of these. It is surprising to see The Satanist so low on the list. listening to this one today
I've got several of these and agree with many of their choices. The only one that really stuck out to me is Lingua Ignota. I've listened to her and seen her live, and it just does absolutely nothing for me. It strikes me as something everyone is supposed to like, but I just don't get it. That's just my own subjective impression though. To each their own!
These Germans come through again with a real banger: About 3/4 of the way in, they change gears and go into full on headbang mode. Really great stuff.
I'm a big fan of Rebel Wizard. He's my fav one man band from Australia. This new song being completely different from the usual high energy onslaught has me wonder if he is expanding his palette. He's downright shoegazing here. July 10
Always room for a kick ass metal photo Bütcher Speed Metal: "We are enormously proud to announce Max Mayhem as our second guitar player."
Iceland strikes again. I gave the whole album one spin and it deserves a second. Difficult music for metal eggheads. I do dislike the first song though. Tracklist: 1. Æðri verur 00:00 2. Orsök 09:06 3. Nástirni 15:53 4. Athöfn 22:29 5. Hvísl hinna holdlausu 24:11 6. Turnar í fjarska 34:27 Today
1:40 when you stop multitasking, focus and in time nod your head in agreement. Power chord black metal. I was wrong about this being difficult. It's a piece of cake.
I don't care for the entire song or the album as a whole but the first minute of this song is a masterclass in sounding evil. I had that opinion two weeks ago but I saw today at AMG this album getting a whopping 4.5/5 with "feels like a future death metal classic" so thought I should check it again, and I didn't change my view. The bandcamp link sounds better than the video. Enraptured by Decay, by Black Curse
I haven't heard anything new and good for more than a week. Dullsville! This isn't black or death remotely but nearer speed metal and although I'm not into this sub-genre I thought the album to be highly entertaining. A lot of fun packed tight into a tidy 39:56. Apr 24
I really like the new Oranssi Pazuzu, but I wasn't expecting it to be as industrial as it is at times. I almost get a black metal KMFDM or Killing Joke vibe at times, but it works! I miss some of the slower builds from the last two records, this one is wall-to-wall intensity.
new Death live release 01. Mutilation 02. Living Monstrosity 03. Within The Mind 04. Zombie Ritual 05. Left To Die 06. Pull The Plug 07. Altering The Future 08. Denial Of Life 09. Defensive Personalities 10. Infernal Death
Previously unreleased I take it. When anyone talks great American bands, which leads to mention of CCR, The Doors, etc, I think of Death as an important American band (in the grand scheme).
I like this. Nice visual effect during the one minute guitar solo at 3:10. I really like the background keyboards. May 25
I'm under the spell of another of these sequences within songs. They're like a vein of gold in a mine. From 1:14 it's a pace I love, straddling death and doom . It's over by 2:00. TOV have a maturity to them that has me wonder if they don't deliver a huge masterpiece at some point. Death-Doom for laid-back adults. The Steely Dan of Death Metal.
