^^^those are sound guidelines to follow in my experience!

Making out my bandcamp wishlist for tomorrow! Probably gonna pick up the new Khemmis ep, some Haunt vinyl, and maybe Savage Master.

I'm doing a deep indulgence in Temple of Void. The more I listen the more I'm convinced of how good they are. This is the last song on their 2014 debut. I really dislike the one minute intro but once the song begins it's perfection for three or so minutes. The rest of the song is average. It's cool to hear a properly climactic finale as done here. Anyway, I'm getting a lot of green goodness from TOV. A lot of replayability.

Pretty good. I swear I somehow thought these guys were from Texas and was ready to say so. There's something about the workmanlike muscular exercise. I could listen to this while riding a horse or building a house. :unhunh: They're not from Texas they're from Russia!

    sorry, but it's true.
there's a LOT of metal outside of what the payola/tastemaker zines tell you to listen to.

further, some of it isn't even metal. not even close. Perturbator?
    hah.
    ok,

Anyone here heard this yet? I'm not familiar with any other work from Ulcerate, but this is awesome! :nauga:
I think it's my favourite metal release since Arkona's Khram in January 2018.

I've been listening to it. I haven't spent enough time with it that it's memorized but I turn to it every few days. High-end Metal. :righton:

I always wonder why Chelsea Wolfe is always included in metal reviews and year end lists. Baffling.

I'm still enthralled by Temple of Void. It's all the little things, like small details within a large painting. I'm specifically nuts for the delivery of the line "Unknown beast, like none have seen" and the beautiful instrumental that follows. World class! Yep, I'm just plain nuts. :uhhuh:

    The Body
    Placed on an open slab
    Autopsy
    Seeking the cause of death
    Incisions
    To find the clues inside
    Necropsy
For it is not a man

Unknown beast, like none have seen

Brought to us by frightened men
Whose silver shots had done it in
    For this creature hunted them
    Tearing through bodies and then
    Feasting muscle, draining blood
    Until those men had enough
A call to arms within the town
To find the beast and bring it down
    Full moon hunter
    Wolven creature of hell
    Stalking horror
    Unearthly lycanthrope
    Cold eyes
    Coarse fur
    Gnashing fangs stripping bone
Single silver bullet ends this nightmare

sure, I'll get on that in a little while. But honestly, there are several labels I could list
who each put out 30 better records than the cumulative turds of that decibel list.

    well, not sure that I'd actually say these are my exact top 30, as that kind of changes around with mood sometimes;

A lot of those I'll admit I've never heard, but that Satan's Hallow album is definitely awesome...it's a shame they broke up.

your life would be a lot better if you did.

PS, metal should be owned on vinyl, not CD.
several of those don't even have CD releases.

Metal should only be listened to on cassette. :D

I have to check a bunch of those bands, so many I don't know.
