Looking at what mint-in-package original first run Star Wars figures (from the late '70s and early to mid '80s) tend to go for on places such as eBay, it makes a hobby like record collecting look not all that expensive!

Not necessarily. Those are not the movies I saw in the theater as a kid.

Empire turns 40 this month. One of the greatest movies of all time! Watching the Harmy despeciallized edition tonight ( saw the original despeciallized Star wars last night) . Happy Star Wars week everyone!

:biglaugh:This made my day. Thanks!!

While I can't quite assign number ratings to these films per another thread, here's what I said a few years ago:
Star Wars: Prequel Era as Originally Envisioned

Basically, I still stand behind that sentiment, though I did re-watch Rogue One yesterday in honor of May 4th, and agree with most of the comments there regarding its more nuanced vision of the Rebellion. In fact, aside from some of the cringe-worthy redundancy in both character dialog and plot development, not to mention the downright spooky appearances of "Peter Cushing" and "Carrie Fisher" as their younger selves, I would say that this is probably my favorite of the rather disappointing prequels, which I would now rank even higher than Return of the Jedi (never liked this either in its original or re-edited presentations).

I have yet to see The Phantom Edit, which has had some favorable reviews, along with any of the Star Wars TV series, though I'm not in a hurry to do so. I will admit, however, to a semi-ironic "appreciation" of The Star Wars Holiday Special, which I can objectively rank as "0" out of 10, but actually do enjoy in bits and pieces, such as:

May the 4th be with you! :nyah:

I'm pretty sure he's encountered a 5th once or twice during his "five-year mission" though...
