Australian black comedy-crime drama "Mr Inbetween".
Wasn't expecting much, but really enjoyed it.
    It's available on Hulu.

Brassic is one of the best things I've seen in recent years - so funny and so moving as well

The Great - I wasn't sure about this but so glad I clicked on it. Ellie Fanning and Nicholas Hoult in a very fictionalised version of Catherine The Great and how she overthrew Peter The Great's grandson who was ruler of Russia at the time. Great acting and a very funny script, definitely worth checking out

I really loved it and am kicking myself for not watching it as it aired. Now onto season two.

on EPIX network. Belgravia season 1(?). based on a Julian Fellowes novel and adapted by Fellowes, who created Downton Abbey. this series is a poor man's version of that great series. lesser in every respect, writing, acting, production, etc. did enjoy Tamsin Grieg's performance. predictable for the most part IMO but wife enjoyed it. she likes anything English so if your into that you may enjoy. a second season may or may not come about.

BOSS-originally on Starz-Chicago politics with Kelsey Grammar. done with season 1 and almost with season 2. i really liked it and with there was more. Grammar chewed a bit of scenery at times but still enjoyable. Kathleen Robertson is underrated in more ways than one:uhhuh::cool:

Cardinal (season 4) A stoopid ex-con hires a hitman to hurt the people who wronged him. Much more violent and bloody than previous seasons.

Homicide: Life on the Street (season 4) Frank comes back to work after his stroke, Lewis' wife leaves him over a painting of Teddy Pedergrass, Munch comes up with weird conspiracy theories, the guy on the boat gets probed by the FBI, Michelle Forbes gets booked for speeding in her Mustang on her first day as ME. The thing that dates this show most (apart from the screen ratio) is the reliance of crescendos where the commercials start and trying to solve most cases in 44 minutes. When it plays the long game it's totally modern.

Mystery Road. Somehow the last season was pretty good so they decided to go to the well one more time. It's about an aboriginal detective who's torn between upholding the whiteman's law and tribal law. Plus there's about 20 levels of beaurocracy he has to go through before he can get out of bed. If you've seen Farewell My Lovely with Eliot Gould you'll guess his final solution which involves multiple firearms. Subtle as a flying mallet.

I'm usually not big on parodies/send-ups, but their take(s) on the "Star Wars" films were pretty well done.
