    not sure of the exact reason why, might be caused by import fees coming into US. Others have mentioned on various threads, not clear myself but does seem to be an issue.

    Same for Amazon.com and shipping to Europe. Global priority service and for a CD they want $18.

    Even worse for shipping to Canada! They want 19 pounds to ship the Trower CD box or Court and Spark to Canada!

    I can trump that...

    Had my eye on the 4K UHD of Ex-Machina for a while - only $10 on Amazon US. I have a $10 gift voucher! Figure I'll treat myself - only a few bucks postage to the UK, right?

    Well.....no.

    Disk = $10
    Postage = $14 (used to be $7 !!!!)
    Import fees= $6
    (Discount) = -$10

    TOTAL = $20

    It's bad enough that the shipping has literally doubled since before the outbreak, but couldn't they take off the discount before the calculation of import fees? In this case, the only reason there are any import fees is because they take off the discount at the end.

    NOT a happy camper....... :(

    Yes, I believe it's because of the coronavirus. There are far fewer flights between the continents, flights that usually also carried mail (and 300+ passengers). Thus, international mail now has a premium. Services like DHL or UPS still operate as they have their own planes. But general postal services that relied on commercial flights now have an issue.

    I posted somewhere about this. There is a reality that some retailers are requiring more expensive methods due to Covid; but for those in the USA; the reality has been that most other countries charge less to ship to the USA than the USPS charges to ship to them. Trump threatened to pull out of the worldwide postal consortium if EVERY country didn't raise their prices to the USA to match our inflated prices to their country. Trump won (sigh). It's supposed to take effect either in June or July. It's supposed to mostly impact smaller packages (i.e. cd's & film).

    The above is factual; I had best stop here before breaking any rules.

    Don’t think the US charges duty on items such as this. Art, innit ?

    Just had an email suggesting delivery this Thursday for the Sex Ed OST! I might have to eat my words. Good things come to those who wait, etc....

    That's now in stock from Amazon themselves, so just dropped them a message requesting dispatch.

    I've actually got someone on the chat help right now telling me that Jess W is out of stock, when their own site shows the precise opposite!

    Just had this;

    'Okay if the item is in stock that means we can cancel and reorder
    Is that okay for me to cancel the order then for you to reorder the item?'

    LOL

    *EDIT* they're still insisting it's out of stock, even though I could go on now and order a copy from Amazon themselves. They've got more front than Dominic Cummings!

    They love asking you to reorder at a higher price than originally paid. I've had that a few times.

    If you click "1 New from £26.99" you'll see it's out of stock, but allowing you to order.

    Yes, that weirdly changed to 'temporarily out of stock' halfway through my argument with their CS!! Who knew?!?!
