With the current pandemic, I'd expect "nothing" for quite a while.

Those would be nice for those who don't have them, but right now, I'd like to see them get their rears in gear and find/assemble the remaining stock of the TV series Blu-Rays.

Not a Rhino product obviously, but we also got the 7a release of Micky Dolenz in Japan during the pandemic.

I'm betting that both the M&M live album and the most recent 7a release were probably put into production sometime in January or February, though. Those were relatively standard CDs/LPs, too, and things didn't start really shutting down nationwide until what - the third week of March? A deluxe box, though, with all the components (the actual box/housing, the individual cardboard sleeves, the booklet, the 7" and/or any tchotchkes, the physical CDs themselves - not to mention the mastering, proofreading, layout, etc.) - I think a best case scenario would be towards the end of the year. And that's even if Warner/Rhino has any interest in getting one out right now with nobody touring and the economy in the tank. The most realistic option, I think, would be to tie it in with next year's rescheduled tour.

I'm cool with waiting so long as a) they actually do get released, and b) they match the content and quality of the other 6 SDEs. The last thing I'd want would be anemic editions of their two best albums!

I'd like them released sooner rather than later, but at the rate things are going it'll end up being 2022, the 55th Anniversary of both albums in question, before we get anything.

It’s not like the idea for a new deluxe box was just suggested. One hopes they’ve been slowly working on the next one since the last one was released in 2017. The gap is getting longer and longer with little word. Not a good sign.

Oh, totally. But even if Andrew had the tracklisting & liner notes ready to go and Rhino gave him the green light today, the actually manufacturing and assembly would take forever in this environment.

I'm not going to be so bold as to ask how much you paid, but I will ask where you were able to find it?

I bought mine from an Amazon.com seller, 5 years ago more or less. Paid more than I would have liked, but up to about 6 years ago, I wasn't even aware of the set: I didn't have a computer when it was initially available thru Rhino and was surprised to find out about it. Glad to own it though.

    No,

will decide when they are ready for that. Only they can give that the greenlight or make any announcement about its release.

I thought getting Headquarters SDE by now would have been a nice nod to Peter's contributions in memoriam.

I'd like to get them before we lose the remaining two Monkees.

Hell, I'm 58 (in the middle of a pandemic, no less) and I'd just like to get them before I ... :sigh:.

While a live SDE would be cool, I have to go along with @D-rock on this one... Finish up the core albums, *then* worry about doing any other auxilary releases.

I'd be up for the proposed later years box set, too. 8 or nine mixes of She's Movin' in with Rico. Think of it! :D

It does seem like big sets ended with the tv box set. Before delays for that set in, then the damage issues, I was sure there were hints on social media of a possible announcement by the end of 2016 (never happened) of a super deluxe of Pisces..

I had also thought that the instrumental Door Into Summer on the tv box set was a tease as to what was still in the vault for that possible compilation.

I think a lot of things, most of them wrong.

    Sometimes I sits and thinks.

    Other times I just sits.

  20. Are you talking about the limited to 10,000 Blu-Ray set? This is the first I've heard of this. Where is this located and on what disc?

It is disc 10, under 1967, Backstage at the Emmys. Sounds like an early take or demo with 2 guitars, drums and runs 1:00.

Here's what I think a potential track listing for a Headquarters deluxe set will be. This is only including stuff not featured on Headquarters Sessions besides the mono mixes that have already been released. It also includes a concert that I'm not 100% sure is released or if there's tapes for it, so this is just a fantasy album.
All of the tracks I got from reading the Day By Day Book by Andrew Sandoval and the songs with different keys attached to them are from the info that's given by Andrew Sandoval.

Not a bad line-up @Michael2damax, but for my own personal preference, I'd rather have more backing tracks that the guys themselves laid down rather than the NYC non-Monkee involved backing tracks.

Of course first of all, we have to get Rhino to want to release a SDE of "Headquarters", and they have to work with what tapes they have, so we'll have to watch, wait, and see what, if anything, they'd ultimately release.

I've never read Andrew's book (didn't buy a copy when it was available), so I have a question- Is there anything mentioned in his book that would give any indication that the Winnipeg, MB, Canada show *might have been* recorded?

I’d welcome a Monkees Mono set. All mono albums, and 45 mixes.

For those of us that have HQ sessions, we already have most of the backing tracks that have Monkees involvement. The NY session tracks are important as they show what Kirschner had in mind for the 3rd album, and they are the main unreleased batch of stuff that is left.
As far as I have heard (and read), there are no more unreleased live performances from the 60's left. I suspect more TV foley and unique TV mixes would be part of this set (if Rhino ever decides to put it out).
