    Counting on that.
Not buying anything else international until I get these ones.
Puts a big dent in my options .

I don't blame you and I have heard and hope that record stores and all other non-essential stores will be opening this week or next week depending on your state.

Back in late 1980's, I believe there used to be a good record shop here in Oregon called Record Garden or something like that. Not sure if they still exist but I recall a friend of mine who worked at a sister store up in Seattle telling me about them.

For me the problem with going to a used record store is you look for hours on end and maybe not find anything. Or you find some things that are marginal or cheap and wind up buying them because you didn't want to make a trip to the store for nothing.

Packages to Europe take forever now. On eBay the buyers can go Paypal Reversal without a $15 tracking number and keep the item by saying they never got it. Are you going to pay $15 to get a tracking number on a $30 item? Of course not. I got 7 this past month. Ripped off blind. Outside of eBay rocking I get 75 percent "I got it" later.

I ordered two CDs from Brazil a couple weeks ago but, I believe, Brazil is currently not shipping to the US.

I also just ordered a few CDs from Russia via eBay -- not sure if they are currently shipping to the US.

Yes I agree. Not everyone who is on Discogs is on there every day. People also have a life. He may have simply forgotten to check his activity.

Complaints should not be made lightly... however by all means file a complaint if you don't get a response to your email, or if you end up not getting what you paid for.

Some people in this thread seem to have misread the OP. The OP was not complaining about shipping time, i.e. how long the item is in transit, but about the time between him paying for the item and for the seller to actually start the CD on its journey.

I don't buy from discogs. I'm primarily buying from eBay and I've had great success. To me communication is the key. when I pay the seller I always include a note that says please let me know when you are sending out the item or items. Also I asked them to wrap it in cardboard to help prevent the jewel case from getting smashed. I completely expected the jewel case to be smashed but it doesn't help to try to avoid that.

I get that some sellers only leave the house once a week. Sometimes they'll be so kind as to node on the auction I only ship out on Tuesdays or something like that. to me what I find a little annoying is when they ship something out and tell me later or I shipped it out 3 days ago. many of the items have tracking on them anyway so it's easy to determine when they were shipped out and where they are.

Unfortunately there are times when I don't hear anything and I don't see anything and if I don't hear anything after say three or four days I send a message to the seller. If I haven't heard anything in about a week then I follow up with them and ask them if they need me to cancel the auction.

I did this recently with a Archie's CD package I purchased. As soon as I sent the message the next day I noticed the item was noted as shipped. No personal note saying I'm sorry or I'm shipping it tomorrow or anything like that it was just shipped.

EBay states that the item is supposed to reach you by a certain time. I usually wait till that time approaches and if the item is not received by that time and I've had no word then I have recourse to contact eBay and have my money refunded. Since the seller doesn't want to lose the sale that usually communicate with me or send the item out right away.

I don't know about Brazil, but I do know that Russia is shipping. I received many packages from Europe and Canada. Irregardless of the pandemic I would not order things from Italy. I heard there postal service is corrupt in your things get stolen.

Thanks for the info on Russia.

I know for a fact that Brazil is not shipping to the US right now - I went to their postal website.

We should create a thread on what are safe and what are not safe areas or maybe even markets to do business with. Like I said I don't do business with Italy. I wonder I see a lot of CDs in Buenos Aires, what about China? Good product but how risky?

 I've had good luck in both buying and selling to Italy, Russia and China and a lot of supposedly questionable countries with no problems.

That is awesome. but you can't deny when some sellers have stopped shipping items to Italy because of loss that there is a problem. I stay out of the bad areas to avoid problems. even though sometimes at a loss for opportunity.

Russia I know about but China I thought the US said it was limiting it's acceptance of items from there.

If he finally became active and didn't bother saying why he's taken so long or a simple sorry, I'd be more prone to negative feedback. One thing I learned about a recent dispute with a Discogs seller... wait until they send you good feedback for paying on time or whatever. I left some negative feedback because of overgrading and trying to buy positive feedback. I declined and they sent me negative feedback on my Buyer rating trying to state I intentionally bought from them just to leave negative feedback. I have it under review.

I usually don't leave negative feedback unless I have a bad issue with the seller. I just don't leave any at all. But to leave negative feedback back because you are conspiring against them that's the craziest thing I ever heard.

I hate to say this, as crazy as it sounds, but I am conspiring against my seller on Discogs. Its been 11 days since I sent him his payment via PayPal. Five days ago I request order status update and tracking information. He never bothered to respond until I reported him to Discogs as non-responsive, only at which point three days ago did he update the purchase to show that he received my payment (which in fact had been over a week ago). Three days ago and 1 day ago I requested tracking details for the cd. At this point I'm assuming he hasn't even bothered to go to his post office to ship me the cd. I am now going to report him again as being as non-responsive and frankly, he can keep the Joe Satriani cd I want. I would rather lose the $32 I have spent and no longer waste any time nor effort having to chase the a*****e to ship me a cd that I a paid for almost two weeks ago. I am going to stick with EIL.com for things I can't find on Amazon or HMV from now. These third party seller sites are just a waste of time, effort, money and patience, the last of which I have no more of after dealing with these two nimrods.

I don't know discogs at all cuz I don't use it. I know at eBay if you don't receive an item by a certain time you can request a refund and they are honored to reverse the transaction.

I too have dealt with sellers once they receive the money become unresponsive. I've sent them messages stating are you sending this or should I ask for a refund. somehow the seller response either to tell me they're sorry and going through some tragedy or something or that they just shipped it. I try not to judge but I understand I want the product that I purchased or at least communication to understand when to expect it.

it's a shame that a few sellers who don't do what they are supposed to can ruin it for people like us that are honest and are trying to just purchase items that we want.

You can say that again! Learned my lesson the hard way. Not going to let this ruin my weekend though. Just going to jam out to some great music.

There are several ways to look at this and yes it was a lesson but I would still pursue trying to either get your money back and if that doesn't happen you may still receive the product. You are smart to stay positive and look at it in a positive way. This transaction could have been for hundreds of dollars. I really haven't purchased many things until recently on eBay or online because I like to physically go into a store and actually see something as opposed to squint at some pictures and wait for information to come back from questions that I've asked sellers.

There are deals to be had online but you have to put up with not only dealing with others as opposed to a store, but the shipping as well. To be honest the way people ship today about half the CDs I received in the mail are crushed and the Jewel cases are smashed. I'm grateful that the art isn't destroyed and the CD isn't damaged but I still have to buy more Jewel cases to compensate for the people not properly packing the items.

Why I wrap mine in plenty of bubble wrap, then ship in a bubble mailer. Even learned how to place a small piece onto the plastic hub before closing the jewel case, learned that here in our classifieds.
    My feedback speaks for itself.
I also prefer First Class and Priority, keeping it out of the "tour of America" trip it takes with Media Mail which only gets worse with the passage of time.

@UltraDNS - you can also sign up for Informed Delivery USPS.com® - Sign In which is free, and see for yourself if you have any packages coming your way.
I've enjoyed mine, and can tell a seller I already have the tracking number, saving them from having to give it to me.

Was that you? I wondered. Lol No seriously I found when sellers literally wrap cardboard around the CD and then slip it into the envelope that's kind of padded that definitely helps because this cardboard can absorb much of the weight of other packages when they brush up crush or sit on top of the envelope.

I have a stockpile of empty replacement jewel cases allowing me to stop being annoyed by smashed cases, broken teeth, etc.
Funny, once I had those I stopped buying CDs almost completely, or they came in digipacks,
That's how it always is though.
An extra roll of Saran Wrap in stock ensures the previous roll to last a year or more.

I've become pretty adept at salvaging CD Jewel cases. Usually all the components on the case aren't smashed but if they are I just throw the whole thing away after swapping the CD and art out of course.

If I can save a tray or the door or the back I will. But there's different types of CD Jewel cases as you mentioned. The thinner ones have to be used with thinner parts. I don't have many Digi packs and I'm in the process of converting them into regular heavy plastic Jewel cases.

I'm also in the process of swapping out the trays for colored trays to add color and happiness to my collection.

Yes, I do have informed delivery from USPS. No packages coming my way either from USPS. Well, I do have one from Pittsburgh, PA, but it was a purchase I made on Amazon JP. As for the Joe Satriani seller,
